Batman and Robin teamed with the legendary Captain America and Bucky to take them down. Commissioner Gordon put up the bat-signal to alert the heroes that the Joker had stolen Fat Boy, an atom bomb prototype turned out by Project Gotham. Joker ended up turning against Red Skull when he tried to detonate an atom bomb over Washington. Batman and Captain America took control of Red Skull’s plane while Joker and Red skull fought in the bomb bay. They tumbled out alongside the bomb over the Atlantic Ocean, and the resulting atomic explosion seemingly killed them.
