History: (Adventure Comics I #41, 42) - Carver learned that the priestess of Dagan, Elara was behind the speaking statue, and he asked her for safe passage to the Earth's surface. Prophecy foretold a warrior would save them from the Scarlet Seeress who threatened all of Thule. She presented Carver with the mystic blade Malar, and told him she'd return him, and his companions who were being healed, home after he fulfilled the prophecy. The seeress hypnotized him and led him to her land of Loma. The king was powerless before her, and didn't want war, and helped him killed the Seeress. Carver returned to Thule to see his friends Volar and Kothe being dragged away, and Elara told him the Dwylath Dynasty took them as sacrifices. She showed him a shortcut to the temple of Dagan and said a tearful farewell to the hero. He rescued his friends from the cultists, and as they made their way to the surface they battled a Brontosaurus and a Pterodactyl. They reached the gate to the surface when they met the men of Marlanda, armored troops who transported the gang in their magnetic ships to their ruler King Marl. Carver thrilled him with stories of his adventures, but Marlanda came under attack from Jagar, an usurper to the throne
