Powers: Crazy Jane suffered from multiple personality disorder, but each of her peonalities displayed metahuman powers. Black Annis was a misandrist who possessed superhuman strength and razor-sharp claws. The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter could animate the paintings she created. Flit could teleport, Mama Pentecost was a universal translator and Spinning Jenny whirld around and shot flames. Driver 8 was a conductor who helped Jane navigate her various personalities, and was assisted by the Engineer and Pointman. Jack Straw was a living scarecrow. Scarlet Harlot was a nymphomaniac that absorbed psychosexual energy and could create ectoplasmic forms, and Sex Bomb exploded when aroused. Rain Brain could create an abstract body, Sun Daddy had a star for a head that shot fire. Lucy Fugue had radioactive bones and could generate vibrations. Flaming Katy was a pyrokinetic and Lady Purple was a precog. Other personalities included the childlike Baby Doll, Jill-In-Irons, who was wrapped in chains, Hammerhead, Stigmata, who bled from her hands and feet, Butterfly Baby, who was locked in a room in Jane's mind and took on her deepest suffering, K-5, No One, Miranda, Liza Radley, Penny Farthing, Pepper's Ghost, Merry Andrew, Driller Bill, Snow Queen, Jeann, Sin-Eater, Signal-Man, Pretty Polly, Sylvia, Secretary, Weird Sisters, Kit W'the Canstick and Daddy, the Shapeless Children, Bizzie Lizzie Borden, the Blood of the Lamb, and the monstrous creature that created Crazy Jane.History: Kay Challis was abused as a chil, and she formed a severe case of multiple personality disorder. The gene bomb exploded during the Invasion unlocked her metahuman potential, and each of her personalities developed superpowers. The Chief formed a new version of the Doom patrol, and when he met the disturbed young Kay, now calling herself Crazy Jane, he knew she'd be perfect for his team.
(Doom Patrol V #7-9) - When the Doom Patrol reformed, Crazy Jane was drawn to them. Danny the Street had been destroyed by MSE, a pan-dimensional construction company, and he gave Jane a brick to give to the Doom Patrol so they could rebuild him. arrived at their new hq on Oolong Island, and was apprehended by Oolong security. She told them crazy was an adjective they applied to her at their peril before deciding that Crazy Jane really did fit her as a moniker. She asked if Cliff Steele could come out and play with her, and gave Father Rocky, the DP’s chaplain, Danny the Brick and told him to deliver it to her friends. The MSE came to Earth to destroy the brick, but the Doom Patrol intervened. They kept Danny the Brick away from the MSE, who eventually left after deciding Earth wasn’t worth their effort. Crazy Jane used Danny the Brick to build Danny the Bungalow.
(Doom Patrol V #10, 11) - Robotman and Negative Man caught up with Crazy Jane, and since her life in Danny the World was gone, they readily welcomed her back as family. A dysfunctional family, but the only one they had. Chief wanted to talk to Crazy Jane, but Robotman warned her to stay far away from him. The villain Porcelain Doll arrived on Oolong, gunning for Chief under the orders of Mr. Somebody. The DP stopped her, but wondered about her motivations. She teleported away to Jost Enterprises, and Elasti-Girl followed her. She tried to teleport away to Jost Enterprises, but Elasti-Girl took her teleportation device and confronted Somebody’s henchmen., who took her captive. Crazy Jane led the remaining DP to Ambush Bug, Danny The Bungalow’s new resident, and asked for his help in returning Rita to safety. He teleported himself, Negative Man, and Robotman to Jost Enterprises.
(Doom Patrol V #22) - The DP were kicked out of Oolong, and Mr. Somebody and the M.S.E. set up shop on the island with Somebody possessing President Cale. Ambush Bug, Crazy Jane and Dusty Marlow banded together, still having loyalty for the DP, and holing up in Danny the Bungalow. Crazy Jane still had full faith that the DP would save the day, she never doubted her dear Clifford. Ambush Bug showed his displeasure with Somebody by continually teleporting his super team the Front Men to Antarctica. The DP stormed Ooolong, destroyed the M.S.E.’s security devices, and defeated the Front Men. Mr. Somebody and the M.S.E. confronted the Doom Patrol, but Ambush Bug let Somebody know, using his cosmic awareness, that DC was cancelling the Doom Patrol comic, and the DC Universe was being remade after the company wide crossover Flashpoint. Somebody accepted that there was no point in fighting, and abandoned Cale’s body, and left the dimensional plane with the M.S.E. President Cale repatriated the DP.
