History: (Deathblow (Image) #3 (fb), 4 (fb)) - Katarina Cupertino and her boyfriend Cisco were part of an underground resistanct that opposed Kaizen Gamorra, the despotic warlord of Gamorra Island. They heisted a Gamorran weapons shipment, but the shipment had a tracking device and they were ambushed by Gamorra’s Hunter-Killer droids. They slaughtered most of the resistance, but saw Cisco and Katarina as promising specimens and decided to abduct them for Dr. Vandalia. Cisco was captured and Katarina eluded them, but she couldn’t bear to leave her partner to his fate and shadowed them to Gamorra Industries. She broke in and found Vandalia in the process of turning Cisco into a Hunter-Killer. Vandalia promised to return Cisco to his organic state if Katarina agreed to be his replacement.
(Deathblow (Image) #1-4) - Cybernary was on the run, and Kaizen Gamorra sent Hunter-Killer droids to retrieve her. The Hunter-Killers severely underestimated her, believing her to be a simple Nympho-Droid built for pleasure, and she disabused them of that notion by slaughtering them. Cybernary set off a grenade, and the explosion stunned her. The Techno-Dwarves, who lived underneath Gamorrah Island and survived by scavenging advanced technology, found her. The Techno-Dwarves took Cybernary to their underground lair, hoping to salvage her for parts. After hooking her up to sensor probes they were impressed with the combination of Nympho-Droid and Hunter-Killer cybernetic implants she had. The Techno-Dwarves couldn’t deinstall Cybernary’s memory implants, and set up a peer-to-peer connection to probe her mind. The Dwarves learned of Cybernary’s origins as Katarina Cupertino, a member of the underground resistance movement against Kaizen Gamorra. They had to cease the peer-to-peer connection and realized Cybernary was at least partly human.
