History: (All-Star Squadron #22) Jake Simmons was a wanted murderer who stole a biplane to escape from the law. His plane was struck by a stray bolt of lightning and crashed in Meteor Crater, Arizona. His wrecked body was discovered by the Ultra-Humanite, who dragged him to a secret lair. The Humanite subjected Simmons to certain electrical experiments, which charged him like a human battery and saved his life. Given a colorful costume and the codename Deathbolt, he became the right-hand henchman for Ultra-Humanite in his battles against the All-Star Squadron.
