History(Arkham Asylum: Living Hell #5 (fb), 1-3) - Doodlebug was a madman obsessed with vandalizing public property. He put art before life, and his notoriety as a criminal made his work very collectable, and his pieces were featured in numerous gallery shows. Doodlebug became obsessed with an occult ritual that would free the Skarva, demons trapped under Arkham. He turned to murder, carving up his victims with occult symbols, and using their blood to spraypaint the symbols that would free the Skarva on Gotham architecture. Immediately after being released from Arkham Asylum he went back to his old ways and was apprehended by Batman. As a state ment of Arkham's inefficiency he sprayed "Gone to Arkham, Back After Lunch" outside the asylum, earning him Junkyard Dog, the smelliest of inmates, as his new cellmate. He paid off a guard named Wrigley to get in the women's wing, and won over Magpie with a shiny shard of glass he'd snitched. After a great time Wrigley led him back to his cell.

(Arkham Asylum: Living Hell #4-6) - Jane Doe, in the identity of Arkham guard Wrigley, helped free her fellow inmates, and Doodlebug enjoyed the riot. When the riot quieted down the Skarva finally awoke, and Junkyard Dog was terrified, so he showed Doodlebug that he's found Aaron Cash's hand that Killer Croc bit off, and had it pickled. He used the hand to free them from the cell, and on the outside of Arkham Doodlebug made another occult symbol on the asylum's walls. Dog thought he was crazy, but Doodlebug simply killed him, ripped out his heart, and used his blood to finish his vandalism. Skarva's master Cthuga, started speaking through Doodlebug, who created a flaming pit to open up Hell. He sacrificed Death Rattle and Lunkead, but he was part of the spell as well, so when Cthuga was summoned Doodlebug burst into flames, dying.
