History: (Dragonlance #10-12) - When the city of Ishtar sank beneath the waves during the great cataclysm a group of Dragon Turtles took it over, making it into a gladiatorial arena for their own amusement. They placed a number of Giant Fire Beetles in the city to deal with escaped prisoners and those who refused to enter the gladiatorial arena. Those they captured soon had their spirits broken, realizing the alternate to fighting for their captors was death. Hero of the Lance Tanis Half-Elven and minotaur Bas Ohn-Horak ended up in Ishtar seeking Horak's brother Koraf. Koraf and Tanis' old captain Maquesta were the current arena champions, having been gifted an amulet of starstones by the Dragons that meant their eventual release, and they promised to kill Horak and Tanis in order to break their servitude. Cleric Loralon had led Tanis to Ishtar to reclaim the starstones, whose immense power could destroy Krynn if they fell into the wrong hands. Tanis and Horak prepared for combat, and Horak remembered the last words he spoke to his brother before he disappeared, "May we never meet as enemies, but if we do may the heavens sing of our battle," an old Minotaur maxim. They prevailed, slaying Koraf and Maquesta, claiming the starstones as their reward. Loralon used the power of the starstone to summon a group of sea elves, who helped him flood the sunken city. The Dragon Turtles were displeased that their fun had been ruined, and Loralon turned them into ordinary sea turtles.
