Powers: Doctor Bedlam was a brilliant scientist, and an energy being able to inhabit android bodies he called animates. He utilized a madness-inducing paranoid pill.

History:  Doctor Bedlam was a New God of Apokolips whose body was transformed into psionic energy. He served at Darkseid's command as a doctor and scientist.

(Martian Manhunter II #33) - Martian Ma Alefa Ak opened communication with Apokolips and Darkseid became interested in the Life Equations of Ma Alefa Ak's father M'Yrinn. Dr. Bedlam and other New Gods were sent to Mars to lull the Martians into a false sense of security. Godfrey explored the idea of an Anti-Life Equation with M'Yrinn and soon after Parademons raided Mars and kidnapped M'Yrinn.
