History: (Plastic Man #2 (Quality)) – Elmer made no impression on anyone at work or outside of work, earning him the nickname Mr. No-Body. He studied a book titled “How To Project Your Personality,” in an effort to be noticed, but ended up learning how to switch bodies with anyone he chose. Plastic Man and Woozy Winks pursued gangster Tony Toppo when Elmer Body switched minds with Woozy and then with Plastic Man, because he thought being a crimefighter would be exciting. He lacked Plas’ control over his powers and was nearly killed by Toppo and his gang before Plas, in Woozy’s body convinced him to switch minds again. Plas defeated Toppo and got Elmer to return to his own body after suggesting he go find the President.

In the pre-Crisis DC Universe Elmer lived on Earth-2. Elmer, like most characters from the golden age Plastic Man stories, may or may not be a part of post-Crisis DC continuity.

Elmer was originally a Quality Comics character, which DC obtained the rights to in 1956.
