History: (DC Comics Presents #23) - The mischievous imp known to some as El Muchacho held a territory between dimensions, and jealously guarded it. In the 1600s he cursewd a ship of Earth-2 privateers, including Captain Ezra Hawkins, whose descendant Inza Nelson would start transforming into a monster because of the curse in the modern day. Her husband Dr. Fate vowed to cure her. Dr. Fate’s crystal ball revealed that Hawkins and his crew had been transported from Earth-2 to Earth-1 by magical forces, and set out into one-dimensional space to find them. Between dimensions he encountered El Muchcacho, and defeated him. He brought Muchacho to present-day Earth-1 where Superman was battling the magically cursed Hawkins. Fate forced Muchacho to remove his curse, and returned everyone to their proper time and place. Fate returned home and was overjoyed to find Inza cured from her curse.

Given his appearance and the term imp used to describe him, could El Muchcacho have been an inhabitant of the 5th Dimension? I doubt we'll ever know, but he is reminiscent of Mr. Mxyztplk.
