History: Funky was a born conman, and a business associate of Col. Mocklingbird. After the Col. died Flashman continued to live on his estate, supporting his extravagant tastes with the dwindling remains of the Col.'s fortune, which he kept in a cash dispenser in a bust of the Col. Flashman was desperate for income, and tried to take advantage of the New God escape artist Mister Miracle, but their partnership soon went down in flames.

(Swamp Thing II #76) - Funky Flashman was in the U.K., boarding a flight to the States when he met up with his old confederate John Constantine, who, unbeknownst to him, had been taken over by Swamp Thing. Funky knew Constantine had been manipulating Swamp Thing for years, and on their flight he laid out a plan where they could have Swamp Thing fight other superheroes for money. Flashman claimed to have backing from Darkseid, Lex Luthor, and Maxwell Lord, and told John that between bets, merchandising and securing building contracts for the property damage caused in fights they’d make a fortune. Arriving in the states John/Swamp Thing blew him ff, and Funky nagged him about not being the con he used to be.

Flashman was Jack Kirby's not-so friendly parody of Stan Lee, who was also prone to hyperbole in his Marvel Comics stories.
