Powers: Gangplank Gus was a pirate of below-average intelligence and armed with a dulled cutlass.

History: (Green Lantern I #24) - Gangplank Gus was 90 years old, but had an infantile mind. He decided to become a feared pirate, and after following a pirate ship for a week in his raft he boarded it and started making threats. He briefly surprised the crew when they cut off his peg leg, and saw that he had two good feet, and only wore it to look more piratey. His eyepatch was also for show, but when he stabbed a swab with his cutlass it wouldn't penetrate, and he realized his weapon had been a swindle. the captain was amused by him, and told him he could join their crew peeling potatoes. Gus didn't think it a proper job for a bloodthirsty pirate, but complied anyway. Once he was finished he'd learned that the ship had taken over a rival pirate ship, and he was ordered to bring aboard the gold. The gold sacks were next to larger unopened sacks, so he brought aboard the big ones. They turned out to be full of potatoes, and the captain ordered him to peel every one as punishment.
