History:  (Beast Boy #1-4) - With the death of the Doom Patrol Madame Rouge wanted a normal life, and fell and love and married. She gave birth to a daughter, Gemini, who was born a mutant with her same shapeshifting powers. She later told her daughter her life history, blaming the Doom Patrol for the emergence of her villainous personality, and claiming the Brotherhood of Evil's mission against them was one of righteous revenge. Gemini was later killed in a fight with Beast Boy and the New Teen Titans, and Gemini grew to hate Beast Boy, aka Garfield Logan, for ruining her idyllic existence. Gar came to Hollywood, and she planned on completely destroying him. She posed as a fangirl at the Opium Den club, but he rebuffed her. When a thug grabbed her and ran out the club Gar followed, but she turned into a gorilla, knocked him out, and tore her assailant to shreds. When Gar woke up, the police had arrive, and arrested him for the murder. She posed as his double, luring him into escaping police custody. She evaded him, and her henchmen Fear and Loathing ensured that Gar was once again returned to prison. She kidnapped Tim Bender and Vicky Valiant, Gar's former co-stars on Space Trek, and went to the mansion of Don Dickerson, the show's producer, to kill him. Gar's old ally Nightwing had arrived in Hollywood to clear Gar, and fought Gemini, who couldn't convince him she was his friend because she didn't know his secret identity. The battle reached the media, and Gar was cleared of wrongdoing, so she flew off, but left behind xianqui pieces, so Gar could track her later. He searched Chinatown, and found her waiting for him. She explained why she was out to ruin him, and summoned Fear and Loathing to attack Gar, while she took his Hollywood co-stars away, planning to kill them, hoping the blame would fall on Gar. Flamebird arrived to help Gar fend off the bounty hunters, allowing him to pursue Gemini. Gar battled her, saved his co-stars, and knocked out Gemini with a punch after a shapeshifter duel. Before passing out she apologized for not avenging her mother.

(Batgirl I #60-62) - Gemini followed in her mother's footsteps, joining the Brotherhood of Evil. Penguin moved to Bludhaven to get away from Batman, and contacted Brain and the Brotherhood of Evil to help him smuggle illegal arms into the city, even though Penguin never entirely trusted Brain. Gemini killed customs agent Parker and disguised herself as him to get the shipment cleared. Batgirl’s informant Marquis told her about the arms shipment and she visited Parker’s houseboat on Island Point. She discovered Parker’s corpse and was ambushed by Brain, Monsieur Mallah and Gemini. They beat her severely, and during the fight a fire started on the houseboat. The houseboat exploded, and Batgirl survived only to find herself drowning in the harbor. The Brotherhood assure Penguin that Batgirl was dead, and hen was ready to complete the arms deal, meeting with Society members Lex Luthor, Deathstroke and Calculator. Deathstroke was skeptical that Batgirl was dead, knowing how dangerous she was, and his instincts were correct. Batgirl survived and studied tape of the Brotherhood fighting the Justice League of America and the titans on her Batcomputer to learn their strengths and weaknesses. Batgirl felt for Gemini when she learned her mother was Madame Royuge, because Batgirl’s father was the assassin David Cain, who tried to mold her into his own image.  Batgirl put the kibosh on the arms deal, defeating the Brotherhood and handing them over to Bludhaven PD, but Penguin had been tipped off that she was alive and flew away from his meeting with the Brotherhood, angered that his plan was a bust but relieved that he wouldn’t be going to jail.
