Powers: Golden Arrow was an expert horseman, marksman and fighter. He was armed with a bow and arrow, and his arrows were tipped with gold. He rode a swift steed name White Wind.
History: Roger's father Professor Paul Parsons was murdered by Bran Braddock, and Roger was raised by an old prospector. As an adult Roger took the crime fighting identity of Golden Arrow and avenged his father's murder. He became a hero of the Old West, avenging wrongs wherever he came upon them.
(Whiz Comics #37) - Tony came to Golden Arrow for help after Ace Slick stole his performing bear Guiseppe. Ace thought Guiseppe talked, not realizing Tony was a ventriloquist, and was booed off the stage when Guiseppe didn’t perform. Golden Arrow took the bear back, but Ace held a grudge. Ace framed Guiseppe for killing chickens and the sheriff was ready to put Guiseppe to sleep. Golden Arrow proved Ace used a bear costume to frame Guiseppe, and captured the criminal.
(Whiz Comics #100) - Arrow opened a new jail and invited the townsfolk to celebrate its' opening. Arrow saw Blackheart striking an old man and thrashed him. As revenge Blackheart tried to burn down Arrow's new jail, but was surprised to find Arrow there. He knocked him out and left him to burn. Arrow recovered and brought in Blackheart, so Blackheart was around for the town's celebration of the jail as its' first prisoner.
(Whiz Comics #102) - Arrow saw locals picking on Mr. Daniels the schoolteacher. He told Arrow his students didn’t respect him because the town thought teaching was a woman’s profession. He was going to get his friends to pretend to rob a bank, and capture them, thus becoming a hero in the town’s eyes. Arrow agreed to be witness to his act of “heroism,” but when his friends robbed the bank Daniels knocked out Arrow. Daniels was actually a crook posing as a teacher. As soon as Arrow recovered he defeated Daniels and his friends and locked them up.
(Whiz Comics #109) - Ranchers complained to Golden Arrow that Luke and Big Jim were selling fire insurance, and burning the ranches of anyone who didn't pay them. Arrow hid in rancher Dodge's barn and waited for the crooks, but they got the drop on him, tied him up, and set the barn on fire. Golden Arrow escaped his bonds and brought the duo to justice.
