Powers: Goldface's body was composed of organic gold, granting him superhuman strength and high levels of superhuman invulnerability. He wore a helmet that gave off golden sparks and allowed him to temporarily or permanently change anything he touched to gold. He wielded a high-pressure spray-gun that shot liquid gold.History: Criminal scientist Keith Kenyon created a synthetic elixir using ultraviolet light on gold that had been in seawater for more than a century, and the elixir turned his body into organic gold. His search for more gold to make more of the elixir led to an encounter with Green Lantern, who defeated him.
As Goldface he clashed several more times with Green Lantern. In Central City he killed a police officer, was captured by Flash, and sent to prison.
(Flash II #186 (fb)) - Goldface met Blacksmith, head of the Network. After a whirlwind romance they were married. The marriage soon ended in divorce, and Blacksmith stole some of Goldface’s elixir to give herself superpowers before she left.
(Green Lantern III #26, 28) - Goldface, Evil Star, Jocasta, Repo and Piston escaped from their Oan sciencells, set up a base in Coast City, and planned to start an interstellar crime patrol. When they learned Green Lantern was in the area Evil Star wanted to attack him, but Goldface told him to stand down, they'd spent too much time making plans to risk an early confrontation with Lantern. When Evil Star started fighting with his teammates Goldface separated them and ordered them to all cool down. Evil Star disobeyed orders, and attacked Lantern and stole his power battery. Goldface demanded that he share the battery with the team, but he refused and started another fight with Goldface. When Lantern came to reclaim his battery Goldface and the villains abandoned Evil Star and fled.
(Guy Gardner #6) - Mr. Gullett and his gang called Goldface to tell him they'd hinted to Guy Gardner that Goldface was located out of McTeague's Corner in Death Valley. Goldface finished setting the trap by sending Piston, Repo and Jocasta to Death Valley to confront Guy.
(Guy Gardner #8) - As they were being carted off to jail Repo called Goldface a moron for letting Guy beat them, and they began arguing until Guy used his power ring to make them shut up.
(Flash II #170 (fb, BTS), Flash #186) - Goldface finished his prison sentence at Iron Heights in Keystone City. After being released from Iron Heights Keith Kenyon retired his Goldface identity and went straight as union commissioner of local 242 in Keystone City. He became popular despite his criminal background because his father had helped found the Midwestern Labor Society with George Schott, and he proved himself by getting pay raises and better medical coverage for half of Keystone’s unions.
(Flash II #170) - Kenyon rallied the union workers of Keystone Motors to demonstrate and demand a pay raise.
(Flash II #171) - During a press conference Linda park questioned Kenyon about his shady methods and business associates, so he attacked her for not doing more reporting about the difficult lives of the union workers.
(Flash: Our Worlds at War #1) - Kenyon ordered 242 to stop their strike until the Parademons attacking Earth had been defeated. Kenyon’s union workers helped build the Tunnel, a device that used Flash’s speed to defeat the Parademons.
(Flash Secret Files #3) - Kenyon tried to break up a near-riot between striking union workers and scabs, but hot hit in the head with a bottle for his trouble.
(Flash II #178) - When the Cage Factory, a business manufacturing metahuman prison transportation, set up shop in Keystone City Kenyon urged them to join 242, but they refused. Kenyon organized a union protest of the Cage Factory, and the Cage Factory was forced to sign up with 242 after the Rogues helped Gorilla Grodd break out of one of their transports.
(Flash III #183) - Kenyon was ready to expose Blacksmith’s Network when the new Trickster stole all his files on the Network from his office.
(Flash II #184-188) - The Thinker took over most of the minds of Keystone City, including Kenyon. Kenyon’s metal skin resisted the wires Thinker used to jack into people’s brains and he escaped. Kenyon tracked down the Rogues, who were at war with Flash, and overheard Blacksmith say she ewanted to find Kenyon so she could melt him down and hang him on her wall. Kenyon rescue Flash from the Rogues and brought him to safety. He explained his relationship with Blacksmith, told Flash he was determined to bring down her Network and had already tipped off the FBI about the Network. The Rogues attacked Kenyon and Flash, defeating them. Blacksmith knew she had to leave the city with her Network, but intended to cause as much destruction as she could before leaving. Kenyon gathered his unions and fought off the Network, buying Flash time to defeat the Rogues.
(Flash II #189) - Kenyon and his union held a reconstruction rally to raise money to repair the damage the Rogues did to Central and Keystone. Flash was finally convinced Kenyon was reformed and shook his hand.
(Flash II #195) - Kenyon and Keystone’s mayor held a celebration for the 100th anniversary of Keystone Motors. The celebration was interrupted by the Top, but Flash defeated the villain.
