History: (Batman I #7) - Granda was a mystic who ran a blackmail racket. His henchmen convinced society readers to go to Granda for a mystic reading, where he would hypnotize them, and make them reveal personal secrets, and later blackmail them. Henry Abbott was tired of being blackmailed, so he tried to go to the police with information on Granda, but Granda had his men execute him in full vie of Batman and Robin. Batman tipped off Commissioner Gordon, but the Gotham City police failed to locate the secret room where Granda kept records of his victims confessing their secrets. Batman posed as a goon who hired Granda to uncover Batman's identity. Granda had his men kidnap Batman's friend Linda Page, but Batman stopped the abduction, and disguised himself as Granda's goon. Granda was shocked to see the hero, and fled, leading Batman on a high speed chase before being caught.

Due to the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Granda's existence was erased from DC continuity.
