PowersGreat White was an intimidating leader, and a skilled if crooked businessman. His face was horribly mutilated and his teeth were sharpened into fangs.

History(Arkham Asylum: Living Hell #2 (fb)) - Warren White was a billionaire nicknamed "The Great White Shark" who made his money through tax evasion and scamming people out of their life's savings. He was C.E.O. at Whiteworld Net, and when his accountant Milton found millions in discrepancies, White shredded the evidence and watched the light go out of the man's eyes. Milton later committed suicide, and Warren relived his fond memory of that day over and over again.

(Arkham Asylum: Living Hell #1) - When finally put on trial for scamming millions of people our of their retirement funds he got a change of venue to Gotham City, and was found not guilty by reason of insanity. White was pleased that he'd cheated the system, but the incredulous judge sent him to Arkham Asylum, the home of Batman's rogues gallery. White was initially amused by the costumed villains and mocked them, but once he realized they were legitimately mad and dangerous he changed his tune. Guard Aaron Cash told him he was a little fish in Arkham, and because of budget cutbacks he was forced toi share a cell with cult leader Death Rattle. Death Rattle had him sleep on the floor, claiming the ghost of a girl he killed slept on the top bunk. The next day Joker told him he was the worst man he'd ever met, and said he'd be popular for hurting him. White said Joker killed people, so he couldn't be the worst person he'd met, but Joker rejoined that at least he didn't steal people's kids' college funds. White started to crack, and tried to convince his therapist Dr. Carver he wasn't really insane, and she started to believe him. She agreed to get him transferred to a minimun security prison for 20 million, but said it'd take a week to push the paperwork through. Harassment from the inmates became more brutal, with Killer Croc slashing White's face, and he found he could neither reason with or bribe the inmates. Carver turned out to be serial killer Jane Dow, who M.O. was to impersonate the last person she'd killed. White was her target, but as she prepared to stab him Batman saved his life.

(Arkham Asylum: Living Hell #2) - Jeremiah Arkham explained to White that he wasn't getting transferred, and "Carver's" file on him was destroyed unread. White pleaded with him, but learned that Jeremiah had lost money in one of White's schemes, so he looked forward to White rotting. In the cafeteria Scarecrow stabbed White with a fork as an "experiment" in fear. The rest of the inmates were sick of White's whining, and a riot erupted. While being patched up, a doctor told him he'd better buddy up with somebody or he'd be dead soon, and by chance Two-Face, who'd wrecked his hands smashing a mirror, was also in the ward. He kept failing to flip his coin, so he made White his coin-boy to make all his decisions. White tried to pull rank on Death Rattle, but he responded that he'd been talking to Milton, who had commanded him to kill White soon. White begged Two-Face for protection, but the coin flip came up good. White snapped at Two-Face, saying it was useless to have someone only protect him half the time. Before things cood get ugly Humpty Dumpty stopped it, and claimed White as his. Dumpty had figured out that Junkyard Dog got White's shredded files to Death Rattle, allowing him to shake him down. Dumpty was Arkham's only model prisoner, and wanted a cell with White because he was obsessed with taking broken things, which is what he saw White as, and putting them back together.

(Arkham Asylum: Living Hell #3-6) - White asked Humpty Dumpty about his life's story. Humpty had so many tragedies in his life that little things like missing a train annoyed him. He learned to take things apart, and put them back together again, but his errors led to disaster for passengers of his "fixed" trains, elevators, traffic lights, etc. Dumpty said White was the worst person he'd ever met, and if he could fix him he could fix anything. Jane Doe, in the identity of Arkham guard Wrigley, helped free her fellow inmates. She told Great White she was going to take him to safety, and he was grateful until she knocked him unconscious and dragged him off. She was upset with him for getting so many new wounds since she'd made a skinsuit to imitate him, so she altered it, and opened his old wounds so they'd match. He was tied up in Mr. Freeze's cell, and she turned down the temperature to kill him, telling him she looked forward to living the high life he had. She prepared to leave Arkham during the madness of the Skarva, demons unleashed by Doodlebug, rampaging in the asylum, but Dumpty spotted her. He was fooled by her White skinsuit, and told her not to worry, everything would be okay now that they were together again. White suffered severe frostbite, his face stripped away and mutilated. The supernatural activity raised ghosts, including Milton's who tried to kill White. White, now unhinged and accepting his nature as a Shark, decapitated the corpse and escaped his cell. He found Jane Doe and started pursuing her, but when ghosts of her victims arose for vengeance he pointed them in her direction. Doodlebug opened a portal to Hell and summoned Cthuga to negotiate the return of the Skarva to Hell. White convinced Dumpty to help him scope the scene. Dumpty was concerned with his new look, but Shark said sometimes you had to break things to fix them. The Skarva couldn't broker their own deal, because they couldn't speak in rhyme, fashionable for higher demons like Cthuga, so Shark offered Dumpty's service in exchange for them going easy on him when he inevitably went to Hell. Shark and Dumpty's gambit were successful, and all the demons returned to Hell. White told the Demon Etrigan, an anti-hero who failed to stop the Skarva, that he'd pulled a fast one, the Skarva would only be able to torture each other in Hell. Demon told him the Skarva were initially kicked out of Hell for having compassion for those they tortured, but White didn't care, too pleased with how slick he was. Demon liked his style, and said he'd like to work with him in Hell one day. Shark's connections and money made him the new king of Arkham, getting resources for inmates on the outside in exchange for a cut of the crimes they committed. White his new look and attitude, and Humpty Dumpty at his side, he'd earned the respect and fear of Arkham
