History: (Green Arrow III #21 (fb)) - Oliver Queen's girlfriend Moonday gave birth to their son Conner Hawke. He was ecstatic about having a child, but soon realized he couldn't handle the responsibility and abandoned his girlfriend and child.

Connor never knew his father he grew up idolizing him. Connor sought peace in a monastery, but the lure of heroics was strong and after his father died he became the new Green Arrow.

(Green Lantern III #81) - Coast City; Arrow was among the heroes who attended a memorial service for Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

(JLA #5, JLA: Tomorrow Woman #1, Aztek: The Ultimate Man #10) - Green Arrow showed up for the JLA membership drive at the JLA Watchtower, and showed the team some promise.

(JLA #8, 9) - Green Arrow was due to be inducted to the JLA, but when he teleported to the JLA Watchtower on the moon he found the team defeated by the Key. Key sent his Keymen after Arrow and put him on the run. In desperation Arrow broke into the trick arrow case of his father in the JLA trophy room and prepared to do battle. He knocked out Key with a boxing-glove arrow before the villain could enter negative space and become part of the center of the universe. The JLA welcomed Connor to their ranks and told him his dad would be proud.

(JLA #10) - The JLA Revenge Squad, hard-light duplicates of the JLA, wrecked havoc in Star City. Green Arrow and the JLA responded and drove them off, but the Revenge Squad was deactivated and sent back to the Injustice Gang hq. The Gang was merely taking the new JLA’s measure before confronting them. Aztek was in the JLA Monitor Womb when he detected a massive amount of energy heading toward Earth, and Martian Manhunter chose to investigate it. He was devastated by the Genesis Wave and realized it was headed toward Earth.

(JLA #11, 12, 15) - The JLA was trying to track down the Injustice Gang when Circe then approached Green Arrow while he was dining with Kyle and tried to lure him away from the JLA. She used her powers of persuasion to convince him that Superman, the only witness to his father’s death, had a hand in it. They went to the Injustice Gang satellite hq, and Kyle told Lex Luthor he’d give him access to the JLA Watchtower. He was playing the Gang and led the JLA to the Gang’s hq. The JLA defeated the Gang, but afterward Arrow quit the team, saying he didn’t like dealing with threats on a cosmic level and felt he could do better work on the streets.

(DCU Holiday Bash #2) - Kyle Rayner took Green Arrow to Sunny Brooke Mall on Christmas eve to do some last minute shopping. The power went out in the mall when a man who’s girlfriend left him went nuts and hacked into the mall’s computer system. Kyle couldn’t reason with him, and he took a nun hostage. Arrow shared Buddhist dogma with the man, telling him life was suffering and that he had to accept the present, eventually convincing him to hand over his weapon. Arrow suggested Kyle forget about presents and just tell his teammates how much he appreciated their friendhip, but Kyle was having none of it.

(Chase #2) - Peru; Arrow and the JLA were informed that the Construct, operating out of an Incan temple, was plotting a takeover of Earth’s computer networks. They went to Peru, defeated the Construct and destroyed his temple.

(Green Arrow II #136, Green Lantern III #104) - Arrow visited the JLA Watchtower in hopes of getting Green Lantern Kyle Rayner's help in taking down the Eden Corps. He was shocked to find that Kyle wasn't there but the time traveling Hal Jordan was. Hal was devastated to learn about Green Arrow Oliver Queen's death, and offered to aid Kyle in avenging him. They met with Eddie Fyers, who'd captured a Corps member and persuaded him to give up the Corps base of operations. GA and GL battled the Corps, but allowed themselves to be captured when the Corps threatened to execute "hostages" who turned out to be Corps members in civilian garb. They met Corps member Hardy who told them the Corps planned to activate Mt. Rainier's dormant volcano and flood Seattle with lava. GL and GA were strapped to a nuke intended to activate the volcano and flown toward Rainier. They escaped, took command of the plane and defeated Hardy and Corps leader Bengal. Afterwards they visited Ollie's grave, and reflected they'd honored his memory by defeating the Corps.

(JLA #38, 40) - Green Arrow was among the legion of heroes summoned by the JLA to quell worldwide outbreaks of warfare that were incited by Mageddon.

(Green Arrow III #1) - Conner planted crops at the monastery and reflected on his frustration of never really knowing his father. he resolved to forget about it, because he would never get the chance with Oliver Queen dead.

(Green Arrow III #8-10) - Conner sensed that his father was once again alive and in danger, so he suited up and left the ashram. He found Jason Blood, Black Canary, Batman and Arsenal all trying to get into the home of Stanley Dover, who was holing Green Arrow captive. The house was protected with a blood seal, preventing anyone not blood related to the residents to enter, so Conner fit the bill to break in. He held off Dover, who was trying to transfer his soul in Green Arrow's body, and could have pulled it off because Green Arrow had been resurrected by Spectre without a soul. Dover opened a gate to Hell, and Conner fought valiantly against the demons that emerged but was overwhelmed. Arrow couldn't bear to let down the son he'd never known, so he contacted his soul in heaven, and his soul reunited with his body. Arrow and Conner fought the demons, but the situation seemed hopeless. Rather than see Hell spread to Earth Conner contacted the JLA Watchtower and activated the fail-safe contingency. A blast would destroy Dover's residence, the heroes and hopefully the gate to Hell. Stanley's Monster arrived and closed the doorway and ate Dover, so Conner called off the fail-safe. Arrow told Conner he was very proud of his willingness to sacrifice himself in the name of heroism and wanted to spend the afternoon with him getting to know him.

(Green Arrow III #11) - Arrow put Conner to work at his Star City youth center. Conner told Arrow he connected with youths because he was a wanna-be dad, and told him it was time for him to settle down with Black Canary. Arrow and Conner went on patrol, busting a number of crimes and warning the criminals of Star City that the Green Arrows kept the streets safe.

(Green Arrow III #13, 14) - Mia flirted with Conner, and he had no idea how to react. Arrow asked Conner about his experience with women, but the conversation made Conner uncomfortable. Conner and Arrow went on patrol, taking out some muggers. Conner pursued one thug, only to find him dead at the hands of Onomatopoeia. Onomatopoeia proceeded to shoot Conner in the head. Conner rushed Conner to the emergency room, and saved his life with a blood transfusion. Onomatopoeia went to the hospital to finish the job, but was blocked by Arrow.

(Green Lantern III #162) - Connor heard a report about Arrow and Kyle Rayner brawling, and confronted them. They were both investigating the Black Circle, but refused to work with each other. Connor told Kyle to respect the fact that Arrow still wasn't comfortable with him as Hal Jordan's successor and told Arrow he was too wound up and needed a vacation.

(Green Arrow III #21) - While Conner was recovering from his injuries Arsenal gave him a Green Arrow scrapbook to look through so he could learn about his heritage. Conner was healed up and went on patrol with his father.

(Green Arrow II #24, 25, Green Lantern III #164) - Connor introduced Amon, who claimed to also be after the Circle to Kyle and his father. Amon told them where the next drop-off point and arrival for the Circle would be. A war erupted between the Circle and the mafia they'd treated so shabbily, with Connor and Black Canary containing the damage.

(Green Arrow III #27-31) - The Elevast Corporation set about opening the Star Center in Star City to boost tourism, but its construction would leave everyone in the Lamb Valley district homeless, so Green Arrow spent millions to fight Elevast in court. Security guards at an Elevast construction site were murdered by a monster and the Lamb Valley residents were blamed. The police rounded up suspects, and Green Arrow and Connor watched over them, making sure excessive force wasn't used.  Arrow found the monsters that murdered the Elevast security guards, and with the help of Connor killed one, and took it to Connor's friend in the Star City morgue Dennis Porter. The monsters were tied to Elevast, and they hired assassin Drakon to cover up the connection, so he killed Dennis and took the monsters body away. Connor felt guilty about his friend's death, and he started giving Green Arrow the cold shoulder when he found he was having an affair with Joanna Pierce, the lawyer representing the Lamb Valley residents. Connor cared for Canary and told Arrow he was supposed to be part of a family. Joanna Pierce uncovered Elevast's connection to Tepcorp, the pharmaceutical company that created the monsters, and Drakon, an assassin hired by Elevast, killed her. She'd e-mailed what she'd learned to Green Arrow, and Drakon sped to his home, where he found Connor Hawke and Mia Dearden. He badly injured both of them, but Connor set a gas fire to blow up the house and defeat Drakon, while taking away a copy of Joanna's e-mail. Arrow sent the information about Tepcorp to the media, exposing Elevast.

(Green Arrow III #32) - Arsenal visited Arrow, and he asked him to get Connor Hawke out of the house for a while. Connor kept trying to get Arrow to open up about Joanna Pierce's death, and Arrow just needed time to be angry. Connor and Arsenal went for a boy's night out, with Connor choosing to go to a used bookstore. Arsenal wasn't enjoying himself and took him to an exotic dance club where he was on a first-name basis with the dancers. Connor asked Arsenal why people assumed he didn't like women just because he didn't chase after them like Green Arrow did. Connor said he was just waiting for real love. Afterwards they foiled a convenience store holdup, and noted the difference in their methods. Connor tried to get one of the robbers to hand over his gun, but Arsenal had no patience and knocked the criminal out. Their attitude about fun and women and crimefighting were different, but they both realized they had a lot in common under the surface because they were both their father's sons.

(Outsiders III #6) - When Arsenal was gunned down by a Brother Blood cultist, Green Arrow and his father raced to Arsenal's hospital bed. He accompanied Arsenal's team the Outsiders on a mission to stop Brother Blood from activating cultist sleeper agents to kidnap one million infants. Green Arrow and the Outsiders succeeded in foiling Blood's scheme and brought him into police custody.

(Green Arrow III #34-39) - Arrow and Connor tracked down art thieves that had robbed the Grell Museum. The thieves cargo truck contained all the stolen items except a mystic Russian totem, all that was left in its case was a note from the Riddler, who'd taken it. Riddler committed a number of other distraction crimes, vandalizing an art restoration lab, hog-tying the Star City Rockets baseball team and filling the financial center Montrose Tower with dried prunes, before leaving a riddle announcing that he was going to detonate an atom bomb in Star City, and cut off all the exits to the city. He was holed up in the Tinder-Smith Garden arena, but had it so well booby-trapped even Green Arrow couldn't get inside. The power went out in the city, and all mechanical devices stopped functioning because Mr. Davis, the man who hired Riddler to steal the Russian artifacts, used them to cast a spell over Star City. Green Arrow took this opportunity to take down Riddler, while Connor dealt with looting caused by the citywide blackout. Davius' spell also summoned demonic beings that executed anyone in the city who committed any act of violence. Green Arrow got Davis' name by beating a confession out of Riddler, and a little library research revealed that Davis' wife and children died in a carjacking, so he cast his spell to create his vision of a utopia. Arrow and Connor located Davis' mansion, but an army of demons surrounded it, and they knew they couldn't break in on their own. They recruited the toughest Star City police officers and gangsters and trained them, to use the bow-and-arrow. Mia demanded to be part of the raid on Davis' mansion, but Arrow told her he didn't need to be distracted by worry that she'd get herself killed. She didn't back down and attacked him, giving him such a good fight that he told her to get a mask and join him. Arrow's army battled the demons and he got the opportunity to enter Davis' mansion with Mia. Davis regretted what he did, and told them there was no way to break the spell except to end his life. The heroes had little time to decide on a course of action as more demons confronted them, so Mia shot Davis dead. She broke down in tears and embraced Arrow.

(Identity Crisis #1) - Conner was training with Green Arrow and Wildcat when they learned about Sue Dibny’s murder.

(Green Arrow III #40-45) - Connor broke up a firefight between rival gangs, one of which was representing Danny “Brick” Brickwell, who become the new rising gangster in StarCity. Connor and Green Arrow went undercover to get close to his gang, but failed, and Connor suggested that Green Arrow’s personal life was getting to him. When Brick eliminated the top mob bosses in the city they began to get tip-offs to his location. Green Arrow followed the lead and found it was a trap. He fought off Brick’s gang for a while before Mia came to his aid and they escaped forever. He forbid her from ever playing hero again, and told Connor to stop training her. Arrow and Connor attending a charity event when Brick eliminated attendees D.A. Allen Fuentes and the mayor with a suicide bomber. Brick was taken into custody by acting mayor Karen Woodruff, and he had her daughter kidnapped, promising to kill her if he wasn’t released within 12 hours. Arrow and Connor ran down every available lead, but Brick gave them a red herring, knowing that the kidnapper, the child’s nanny, would talk, he had him give the heroes the location of a false safehouse. Arrow had to admit defeat, and Woodruff released Brick. Mia learned that she had H.I.V. Connor reached out to her, and she admitted she felt dirty and although she wasn’t scared of dying she was worried no one would ever love her. Connor silenced her with a kiss, but when she asked if it meant they were now dating he admitted that it was more of a symbolic gesture. Nonetheless she was uplifted. Arrow and Connor attended a rally at Mia’s school where she gave a speech about living with H.I.V. Mia showed Arrow her superhero costume and told him her life needed the focus of being a hero, and he finally accepted her as such, passing her the mantle of Speedy.

(Identity Crisis #6) - Arrow learned of the death of Jack Drake, Robin’s father, and made sure Conner knew how much he loved him.

(Flash II #216) - Conner and Green Arrow learned from Oracle that Deathstroke was in Star City looking for revenge on Arrow.

(Green Arrow III #47-50) - Green Arrow, Connor and Speedy chipped away at Brick’s empire, taking down drug rings, his skin trade and weapons shipments, prompting Brick to call in outside help. Team Arrow went to apprehend Brick’s man the Duke of Oil, who’d just robbed a bank. Arsenal was trapped inside the bank when Drakon shut the windows and doors with a trip-wire. After a wild fight Arrow disabled the Duke by shooting an arrow at the base of his android skull, the one chink in his armor. Arsenal discovered a massive bomb in the bank and went to work disabling it. Once Arrow defeated the Duke, Drakon released the bank doors, allowing the patrons to leave, but Arsenal was still determined to defuse the bomb. Drakon set off the charge, seemingly killing Arsenal, but in reality he’d kidnapped the hero before the explosion. Arrow frantically searched the wreckage for Arsenal, and was joined by the Outsiders when they learned their teammate was in distress. After a full search they found no body, but they did discover Riddler’s calling card. They stormed Riddler’s safehouse, Puertas al Infierno, a former prison, and fought off the hi-tech armored mercenaries that guarded it. Shift captured Drakon after Speedy and Connor fought him to a stalemate, and Green Arrow found Riddler, who shot him in the shoulder as revenge for Arrow’s past brutalization of him. He tied up Arrow next to Arsenal, but once Riddler learned his security had been breached he fled, noting that his act was a game, and a hint of things to come when he was serious about destroying Green Arrow. Green Arrow returned home just in time to witness his house demolished by an explosion set by Deathstroke, another of Brick’s contract men.

(JLA #117) - Former members of the Secret Society of Super-Villains who’d had their minds altered years ago by the JLA because they knew the secret identities of everyone in the JLA had their memories restored by Despero. The JLA knew the villains were going to target their loved ones, so Green Arrow checked in on Conner and Speedy to make sure they were okay.

(Green Arrow III #52, 56-59) - Arrow rented the subbasement of the Steadman Building as his new hq, and had Zatanna pose as a high school student to follow Mia and make sure she was safe. Mia complained to Connor about Arrow treating her like a child, but he told her they were in serious trouble, as the bombing of their old home indicated that someone knew their secret identities. Dr. Light was one of the Society members responsible for the explosion, and while he kept Green Arrow busy fighting members of the Society he planned to kill Arrow’s family, starting with Mia. He attacked Mia’s school, and after incapacitating her he told her he was going to kill Connor Hawke and released her. He didn’t know where Green Arrow’s new home was, but knew Mia would run home to Connor to help him. Having fooled Mia he prepared to finish Connor and her off. Green Arrow and Black Lightning returned to Arrow’s house in time to save Connor and Mia. Light defeated the heroes and teleported Green Arrow away from the house and sealed its exits with light. Light was then joined by fellow Society member Merlyn, who’d rigged a bomb to Arrow’s new house, and they forced Arrow to watch as they blew up his new home with his family inside. Lightning protected Mia and Connor as best he could and when paramedics arrived he helped dig the injured Connor from the wreckage. The only thought on Connor’s mind was Mia’s safety, and he escaped from the ambulance to look for her.

(Green Arrow III #66-68) - Green Arrow wanted to go out fighting for his city, but he passed out from loss of blood. Citizens of Star City brought him to an emergency medical camp, and when he was stabilized Connor, fearing they wouldn’t be safe in Star City, brought him and Speedy to the Marshall Islands, aided by his friend Frederick Tuckman, a monk and former LexCorp corporate raider. When Green Arrow awoke he first asked about Star City and learned it was in a state of disaster. Overwhelmed with grief because he’d been beaten on his own playing field he resolved not to return to Star until he was ready to win his next fight. He hired grand-masters of fighting to come to the Marshall Islands and hone his skills, along with those of Speedy and Connor. He improved greatly, but realized he needed a different type of instructor to combat the Society, so he contacted Natas, Deathstroke’s former mentor. Speedy and Connor were both worried that Green Arrow was straddling the line, learning to fight from a killer. Natas pushed Green Arrow to his limits of fighting and tracking, but Arrow remade himself and his fighting style. Tuckman informed Arrow that a wall had been put up in Star City to separate the badly damaged ghettos from the rest of the city, and Arrow resolved to run for Star City mayor when he returned home, with Tuckman . Arrow finished his training with Natas, although the assassin was convinced he’d never beat his opponents because they were willing to kill and he wasn’t. Natas departed and told Arrow they’d never meet again, but he’d prepared a final test, sending an army of assassins to the Marshall Islands to kill Arrow, his family, and the grandmasters. Arrow knew Natas was testing him to see if he’d take another’s life. He sealed the grand-masters in a cave because they were willing to take lives if need be, and used all his skill and guile to defeat Natas’ assassins. The grand-masers had some government connections, and made sure the assassins were put into custody. Arrow returned to Star City, but realizing the dirty nature of politics he wanted Mia and Connor to stay on the island, away from the dirt that could be slung at them.

(Green Arrow III #73-75) - Connor Hawke returned to Star City and voiced his disapproval of Ollie’s funding of the Oiutsiders, who he, as well as most of the American public, saw as terrorists. Ollie told him he didn’t regret anything except being unable to finish his work in Star City, since the Outsiders issue had forced a recall election, and he’d soon be the ex-mayor of Star. Mia got word that Brick was making a play to become a major player in the Star City underworld, effectively ending his truce with Green Arrow. Arrow, Connor and Speedy went to find Brick’s lieutenants Monk, Breaker, Mastman and Picka and Roll, and Black Canary showed up to offer a hand. They captured everyone except Brick and his new right-hand man Merlyn. Speedy and Connor stayed out of Green Arrow’s way while he reconnected with his love Black Canary, but Speedy soon got security footage of Brick’s current location. The heroes pursued the lead, but found it was an ambush set by Drakon and Deathstroke. The villains had them dead to rights, but the Justice League of America arrived and saved the day, even though Drakon and Deathstroke were able to escape. Mayor Queen resigned, eliminating the need for a recall election, and making his right-hand man Frederick Tuckman, who convinced Nudocerda to make him head of city council, the new mayor. As a farewell gesture of unity Queen and Connor and Speedy shoot chemical arrows at the wall that separated the Glades from the rest of Star, bringing them to the ground.
