History: (Martian Manhunter II #1) - Thaddeus was a brilliant yet amoral and elitist scientist who graduated M.I.T. at age 15. Thaddeus worked in munitions, where he met John Henry Irons. He horrified Irons with his military weapon the Headmen, devices which stole the brains of enemy combatants. Thaddeus had his brain transferred into a robot body, which he dubbed the Headmaster. He feared Earth would eventually perish, and that humanity needed to colonize other planets to survive. He started work on a spaceship, and had his Headmen kill and steal the bodies of the homeless to serve as his drones. Martian Manhunter found his hq, and he asked for a chance to explain what he was doing. Manhunter understood the importance of the idea, but was repulsed by Headmaster’s casual taking of life to get there. They fought, resulting in the destruction of the spaceship, the base, and apparently the Headmaster.
