Powers: As a being of pure energy, the Invisible Destroyer could appear and disappear at will, produce bolts of energy from its’ fingertips, and was immune to most forms of attack. Anything that could siphon off energy was capable of hurting the Destroyer, but exposure to radiation revived and empowered it. It was theorized that the Destroyer appeared faceless because his creator Dr. Martin Phillips subconsciously refused to acknowledge it’s existence, thus making it appear invisible.

History: (Showcase vol. 1 #23)-A physicist named Dr. Martin Phillips somehow unleashed the Invisible Destroyer from his subconscious. The Destroyer is a personification of the doctor’s repressed evil thoughts, and after this dark side of Phillips gained a life of its own it went on a crime spree in Coast City. Green Lantern II confronted the Destroyer, who revealed its plan of setting off an atomic explosion. The Destroyer feeds off radiation, and it hoped to become omnipotent after absorbing so much energy. Green Lantern used his ring to reduce the atomic blast to the size of a small firecracker pop, and the Destroyer went into a rage. It fired an energy bolt at Green Lantern, who countered with a beam of anti-matter energy; sending the Destroyer into exile in the Anti-Matter Universe.

(Justice League of America #41) - The Destroyer somehow escaped the Anti-Matter Universe and ambushed Green Lantern. After a short fight Green Lantern created a giant power battery that siphoned off all of Destroyers’ energy, putting a seemingly permanent end to his threat.

(JSA Secret Files #2) - Nevada; The Destroyer went to Roulette's House to attend one of her gladiatorial contests. He was among the crowd of villains that watched Firebrand III and a Checkmate agent forced to fight to the death.
