Group Affiliation: Green Lantern Corps

Known Relatives: None

First Appearance: Green Lantern Corps: Recharge #1 (November, 2005)

Powers: As a Green Lantern, Kol wielded a power ring capable of doing almost anything he could imagine as long as it was recharged by his emerald power battery once every 24 hours. Examples of its' powers include flight, phasing, creating giant objects formed of energy, and force fields.

History: (Green Lantern / Sinestro Corps: Secret Files #1) - Kol served as a Thanagarian soldier during the Rann-Thanagar War. Kol's superior ordered his troop to surrender to a Rannian platoon, but Kol knew they'd be slaughtered if they surrendered. He killed his commanding officer and lead his fellow soldiers to victory. Kol was court-marshaled and was about to be beheaded when a Green Lantern power wing whisked him away, and he was inducted into the Corps.

(Green Lantern Corps II #14) - The Sinestro Corps took out a sector house in 2263, so Kilowog rallied Isamot Kol and the other Corps members on Oa, telling them they were going to take the fight to the Sinestro soldiers.

(Green Lantern Corps II #15, 16) - The sentient planet Sinestro Corps soldier Ranx attacked Mogo, knowing the Corps would not long survive without Mogo to direct power rings to worthy recipients and to mentally train new recruits. Kilowog and the Lanterns under his command, including BKol arrived and rallied behind Mogo, but  Sinestro Corps drill sergeant Arkillo beat them back with his soldiers. Despite the GLC’s efforts Ranx ripped a hole in Mogo’s surface and sent in the Children of the White Lobe, the Sinestro Corps latest allies, so they could explode and destroy the power ring at Mogo’s core. Kilowog sent corpsmen Yat, Kol, Stel and Chthatis off to Ranx to destroy the planet’s brain. Fearing the prophecy of the Blackest Night the Guardians rewrote the Book of Oa, allowing lethal force against the Sinestro Corps. The Sinestro Corps suffered heavy losses on Ranx and Oa, and Sodam yat destroyed Ranx. The rest of the GLC disabled the Children of the White Lobe, and the Sinestro Corps fled, turning their attention to Earth.

(Green Lantern IV #24, Green Lantern Corps IV #17) - Isamot and the GLC arrived on Earth to fend off the Sinestro Corps invasion of the planet. Isamot and Varth Sarn were assigned to Lubbock, texas, where Sinestro Corps soldiers were igniting oil rigs, and the corpsmen happily mowed down their enemies. They were recalled to NYC, where Sinestro had arrived with the Anti-Monitor, who planned on collapsing the multiverse by gaining control of Earth.

(Green Lantern IV #25) - The Sinestro Corps War raged on Earth, and while Kol, the GLC and an army of superheroes battled the Corps the Anti-Monitor prepared to unleash an anti-matter wave to destroy Earth. With Earth’s destruction, the entire 52 would fall, and he would once again rule all that was. The GLC ruptured the heart of Anti-Monitor’s Warworld, the Sinestro Corps central power battery, and created a shield around Warworld and the Monitor. The ensuing blast nearly destroyed the Anti-Monitor, and he was finished off by Superman-Prime, who betrayed him for having destroyed his home, Earth-Prime. GL Hal Jordan defeated Sinestro in personal combat, and the Sinestro Corps, lacking any leadership, fled Earth. The heroes rejoiced and began rebuilding the damage the Sinestro Corps did.
