I...VAMPIRE
Real Name: Andrew Bennett
Class: Vampire
Occupation: Vampire, nobleman
Group Affiliation: None
Known Relatives: None
Aliases: None
Base of Operations: New York City, NY
First Appearance: House of Mystery #290 (March, 1981)
Powers: Andrew Bennett had all the standard powers and limitations of a vampire. He was superhumanly strong, quick, and immortal. He could transform into mist, a wolf or a bat. Bennett had an unquenchable thirst for blood, and could turn other humans into vampires with his bite. He was immune to most conventional forms of damage but could be destroyed by sunlight, a stake through the heart, immersion in running water or exposure to holy symbols.
History: <400 years ago> Andrew Bennett was turned into a vampire, but refused to take a human life, so he survived off of animals, and later bottled blood. His beloved Mary craved immortality and he reluctantly made her into a vampire. She couldn't resist the temptation to prey on humans, and after separating from Andrew she founded the vampire cult Blood Red Moon, becoming known as the Queen of Blood.
Bennett battled the Queen over the centuries, and in the 1980s he had a final showdown with the Blood Red Moon, accompanied by his allies Mishkin and Deborah Dancer. Miskin was killed, and as the battle turned against them both Bennett and Dancer took a Soviet formula that was supposed to confer humans with the power of vampires, but with none of the limitations. The formula was not meant for one already a vampire, and Bennett perished, but Dancer succeeded in destroying the cult.
