History: (Mortal Kombat X #4, 5) - Legendary fighters Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage had a daughter Cassie Cage, and their different parenting styles led the spoiled Cassie to idolize her indulging father and hate her authoritative mother, leading to her frequently running away. Her only friend was Jacqui Briggs, daughter of fighter Jax. They sparred in Johnny's Cage's house, wrecking one of his awards, but Cassie said not to worry because her father could never be angry at her. They got tickets to a club putting on a fightclub event, and Cassie said they could learn some new moves, but soon decided she could take any of the fighters and signed up for a bout. Jacqui learned that the fights were deathmatches, but it was too late to keep Cassie from entering. She was matched against the undefeated Frost. Frost was arrogant, but Cassie surprised her with her fighting skills, and knocked her out with a headscissors. The crowd booed when she refused to kill Frost, and security put a gun to Jacqui's head. Cassie was prepared to break Frost's neck to save her friend's life, but the situation was defused when Black Dragons Jarek and Tasia burst into the club, and started cutting people to ribbons. Cassie dragged Frost to safety, but the Black Dragons turned their attention to Cassie and Jacqui, pursuing them, capturing them, and taking them to Outworld.
(Mortal Kombat X #9) - Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage traveled to Outworld looking for their daughter Cassie Cage and her friend Jacqui Briggs. Kotal Kahn promised that, as someone who lost his family, he would never kidnap someone's children. Evidence pointed to Erron Black, who was the intermediary between Kotal Kahn and the Black Dragon, and Kotal Kahn agreed to take care of business. Kano was assisting Erron, and Cassie and Jacqui tried to flee their captors, but Kano shot an eye-beam at them, promising he'd take off one of their legs if they tried that again. They were stopped by Mileena's ally Mavado, who said he was going to send Kotal a message written in blood.
(Mortal Kombat X #12) - Kano decided the operation had gone south, and used Erron's portal stone to escape. Erron freed Cassie and Jacqui, telling them to fight for their lives. Mavado badly wounded Black, but Cassie and Jacqui killed Mavado by disemboweling him. They were eventually overwhelmed by the Red Dragon clan, and taken to the island of Shang Tsung. The Red Dragon left Erron alive so he could tell Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, who were trying to find their daughter, exactly where she was.
(Mortal Kombat X #20) - Havik tried to unlock Cassie's warrior blood by threatening someone close to her, so he had Skarlet beat Jacqui Briggs mercilessly. Cassie was furious and upset, but showed no powers, and Havik wondered if Cage's gift skipped a generation. Reiko returned with Jax's Kamidogu, and Havik told him that they needed only one more, because Raiden had collected the remaining three Kamidogu, so they would simply take them from him.
(Mortal Kombat X #23, 24) - With Cage, Blade and Kotal Kahn approaching Shang Tsung's island Skarlet used the blood code to take control of Cassie and Jacqui. Reiko confronted Kotal and his crew when they arrived on his island, presenting Cassie and Jacqui, and saying they were not going back with them of their own accord.
