Green Lantern never knew that Rose bore him two children, who she gave up for adoption because she feared her psychotic personality Thorn would one day reemerge. As an adult she met her brother Todd, who also possessed super powers. They both suspected their true parentage, and intended to become superheroes under the names Jade and Obsidian. They tried out for the JSA, along with a few other second generation superheroes, but were rejected. These second generation heroes formed their own team as Infinity, Inc.

The new energy that filled Kyle left him in a daze and unable to communicate. Jade finally got through to him with the help of Sentinel. Kyle told her it was his destiny to claim all the Parallax power in the sun and prevent Nero, who also knew it was there, from taking it as his own. Jade was insistent on going with Kyle, but Sentinel held her back, telling her she'd just be in the way and at this point it was something Kyle had to do on his own. Kyle succeeded and returned to Earth as Ion.

was also on the case, but Arrow wanted nothing to do with him because he saw

They weakened him enough for the Spectre to separate Hal from Parallax, allowing Hal’s soul to return to his body, resurrecting him. Parallax possessed Ganthet and spread fear worldwide. Deathstroke also told Arsenal he knew the League would never allow him to die, because they still considered him one of their own. This exact situation was the only reason Deathstroke allowed Arsenal to join his team. The League backed off temporarily, and allowed the Titans to fly off. The League confronted the Titans again in Kahndaq, where the villains had enlisted the support of Kahndaq’s ruler Osiris. Batman tried to get Arsenal to side with the League, but he refused, telling him that heroes never won when it counted. Tattooed Man rejoined the team, just as Deathstroke knew he would, and gave Slade the opportunity to stab Supergirl with a kryptonite sword created for him by Lex Luthor. The battle ravaged Kahndaq, and Isis had enough. She demonstrated her godlike powers, and banished the League from her country. She sent Osiris and the Titans off, telling her brother that he’d proved he was unfit to rule.
