History: (Flash II #171 (fb, BTS), Flash Secret Files #3) - Detective Morillo was chief L.A. homicide detective, and had aspirations of joining the F.B.I. His wife wanted a child so she convinced him to give up his dream of becoming an F.B.I. agent, and they moved from L.A. to Keystone City because Keystone was supposedly safer and had less pollution. Morillo joined the KCPD and offered insights into crimes no one else could because of the sheer number of violent cases he’d already handled. He got a reputation for being arrogant and dismissive towards his fellow officers.

(Flash II #171) - Morillo deduced the truth about the string of murders committed in Keystone by the Children of Cicada, all the victims were people whose lives had been saved in the past by Flash. Morillo brought Flash into his investigation, and had him collect evidence from the dozens of murder scenes.

(Flash II #172, 173) - Officer Chyre punched Detective Morillo because Morillo was keeping him away from the investigation of his partner Jackam’s murder. Their argument was cut short when the precinct was wrecked during a battle between Flash and Magenta. Chyre and Morillo agreed to help each other find the Children of Cicada. They figured that since they were both disliked by the rest of the KCPD they might as well work together. They found Cicada’s inner sanctum, and helped Flash defeat Cicada and the cultists. Morillo was stabbed by Cicada’s knife during the fight, and soon discovered that it somehow imbued him with healing powers.

(Flash II #174) - Morillo and Chyre were made partners and assigned to be the lone members of the newly formed Department of Metahuman Hostility. They collected the remains of Tar Pit after his fight with Flash and handed him over to S.T.A.R. Labs.

They interrupted Murmur’s attack, but he escaped with help from the Rogues.

Cicada tried to use his connection to Morillo to get Morillo to set him free, but Morillo shook off the influence.

He beat Plunder senseless and warned him to stay far away from his wife in the future. Chrye and Morillo went to Central City to see if they could help Flash in his war against the Rogues. They ran into Captain Cold, who wanted to undermine Blacksmith’s leadership of the Rogues, and helped them free Cyborg an the KCPD from one of Mirror Master’s traps. Morillo, Chyre, and Cyborg found Flash, and helped him defeat the Thinker. Morillo and Chyre went to see Hunter Zoloman to see if he had any insight on defeating the Rogues.
