History: (Superman I #295) - <2975> Time Trapper waged war against the GLC, and shunted the energy from the Green Lantern's power rings into the time-dimension, erasing all of Earth's possible futures except for Earth-K, a world where a nuclear apocalypse almost wiped out humanity, and allowed mutated animals to take the reigns of Earth. This retroactively erased the Legion of Super-Heroes from history, and the Time Trapper claimed victory. Humanity would evolve a race of super-powered humans and they overthrew their animal overlords. Jaxon was their mighty champion, and stole from the man-gorillas the costume of Superman, long prophesized to be the savior of humanity, He vowed to only relinquish the costume to the one true Superman. GL Xenofobe traveled into the past to steal Superman's costume, knowing he'd come after it, orchestrating a convoluted plan to undo Time Trapper's handiwork. Superman saw Jaxon wearing his costume, and Jaxon didn't believe he was the real deal, and refused to surrender it. Jaxon was full of macho bravado, and only after a titanic battle did he admit that he was really fighting Superman. Xenofobe's plan came to fruition, the massive fight unleashed energies that negated the GL power ring's effects and once again opened up all future timelines. Jaxon was in awe that the savior had arrived, but Xenofobe returned Superman to his own time.
