PowersJerry was a larger than life figure, and an expert trader and haggler. He existed in the fictional world, and the real world, blurring the lines between the two.

History(Hellblazer #23, 24 (fb)) - Jerry O’Flynn devoted his life to being a trader and merchant, finding the rush of bargains to be addicting. Jerry struck up a friendship with the magician John Constantine, who admired his wild ways and tried to emulate him. One day Jerry was approached by a client who wanted serial killer souvenirs, and Jerry couldn’t resist the thrill in chasiing down items for him, until he asked for mementos from a killer at large. O'Flynn contacted the Family Man, informing him that his client Reed Hackett desired souvenirs from the Family Man's exploits. The Family Man agreed to trade with O'Flynn in exchange for O'Flynn supplying him with names of potential victims. O’Flynn knew he’d damned himself, but the addiction to trading was too strong in him. Writers began incorporating Jerry’s history and outlandish personality into their writing, and Jerry saw them as leeches diminishing his own individuality. He started actually existing in fictional worlds as Jehosaphat P. Flynn, Magnus G. Tolstoy, Hieronymous Smith, and many others. One day Sherlock Holmes visited him, warning him that a man could not exist in reality and fiction at the same time, and told him other literary characters were coming for him. His old friend John Constantine visited, looking to earn some money for his demon blood, but when Jerry let him in Blind Pew from Treasure Island arrived and gave him the black spot. Jerry told John his story, and he thought he was full of more tall tales until they had to flee the house after an attack by the Big Bad Wolf. They went for a drink to forget their sorrows, but were assailed by the Seven Dwarves. John told him to stop acting like a fictional character, but Jerry knew it was too late to change his ways. Jerry entered a library, and the fictional characters tried him, sending him to the limbo of old books. Only the most famous and beloved fictions could enter public domain and walk the work in flesh, but Jerry did not have that right. John was warned that a similar fate could one day await him.
