Powers: Johnny Double was a split personality, his good side being mild-mannered, and his criminal side being a master criminal.

History: (Green Lantern I #18) - Johnny Double had a split personality, when he slept his evil side emerged and became a notorious criminal, who knew of Johnny's activities, but did not know they shared the same body. Johnny was an aspiring writer, and wrote crime stories based on his evil side's criminal activities, which he thought were dreams. He sent his scripts to radio station WMCG, but his evil side always intercepted them. Double wanted to know what was going on, and rode a train to the station. He fell asleep, and his evil side searched the train in vain for Double, wanting to kill him for trying to expose his crimes. He derailed the train, but Green Lantern saved the day. Johnny Double approached Alan Scott (Green Lantern) at WMCG with his latest crime story, based on the encounter his evil side had with GL. He later fell asleep, and his evil side tried to kill GL, who chased him in front of his sidekick Doiby Dickle's taxi. He awoke, and GL deduced his situation, and told him about his mental condition. They needed him to sleep so his criminal persona would emerge and they'd learn where he'd sent his gang to rob, and when singing didn't work, Doiby knocked him over the head with a wrench. They followed him to the robbery he planned at an astrologer's office, and rounded up his men. GL's solution for his condition was to allow him freedom during the day, but to sleep inside a jail cell in prison. Double was happy that he didn't have to worry about the harm his evil side caused any longer, but the next time he woke in his cell it was filled with loot.
