History(Marshal Law (Epic) #1) - Kiloton was a SFPD officer operating out of a secret police stations in an abandoned BART terminal. Kiloton and Danny Mallon assisted Marshal Law, the city’s top hero hunter, who had a pathological hatred of all superheroes. Kiloton constantly struggled with his weight problem and started wearing a muzzle in a desperate bid to get into shape. The serial killer Sleepman killed a number of women dressed up as the superhero Celeste, and Marshal Law was assigned to the case. Blood and semen samples revealed that Sleepman was a flyer, and heroes with that power tended to have unnatural sexual appetites. Marshal Law was convinced the Sleepman was the Public Spirit, America’s most beloved hero, who was engaged to Celeste. Marshal Law knew he wasn’t being impartial because out of all the superheroes he hated the Public Spirit most of all. Law called up Commissioner McGland for genetic samples from Public Spirit. McGland flipped, saying Marshal Law’s job was to keep the vermin from downtown from bothering anyone and not to be messing with real heroes. The superhero gang Gangreen breached BART’s defenses, looking to retaliate against Law on his home ground. Danny suggested they flood the tunnels, but Law said he didn’t want them dead because a power vacuum in their absence would lead to all-out superhuman gang war.

(Marshal Law (Epic) #2) - Marshal Law rounded up some renegade capes and asked Kiloton how his diet was going. Kiloton admitted his diet went downhill when he realized he could suck ice cream through his muzzle. Danny Mallon hacked S.H.O.C.C.’s files on the Public Spirit, and Marshal Law suspected he’d murdered his fiancee Virago so he could go on his mission to the stars. Law confronted Public Spirit at the Superdrome, an amusement park showcasing the works of S.H.O.C.C., accusing him of killing Virago and being the Sleepman. The Sleepman attacked and murdered Law’s girlfriend Lynn Evans.

(Marshal Law (Epic) #3) - Back at the station Danny revealed that Public Spirit’s records showed he was the same rare blood type as Sleepman, A Negative. Danny revealed that Celeste used her super lovemaking powers to seduce enemies of the state, and theorized that Public Spirit was jealous enough to kill women dressed as her. Kiloton said he’d overheard gossip at a party from She-Beast that Celeste and Public Spirit fought all the time, and he’d forced her to give up her career so they could get married. Commissioner McGland convinced Marshal Law to stop going after Public Spirit, only getting him to agree when he revealed that Spirit was going to donate one million dollars to The Midnight, and Law thought about all the down-and-out heroes the money could help. Law was forced to make nice with Spirit at a public event showcasing Spirit’s donation. Law promised himself that when the check cleared he’d bring Public Spirit down.
