Powers: King Shark was amphibious, and possessed superhuman strength and durability. King Shark had razor-sharp teeth and claws. he was a fierce fighter, but had a limited intellect governed by his primal urges.History: King Shark claimed to be the offspring of the Hawaiian shark god and a mortal woman, but doubts have been cast on his origin, and he may have been a mutated shark. he tormented the residents of Honolulu, and was a frequent antagonist of Superboy.
(JLA #59) - Joker Jokerized a number of inmates at the Slab, including King Shark.
(Superman Secret Files and Origins 2004) - Maxwell Lord, impersonating Sarge Steel, hired King Shark, Captain Boomerang, Double Down and Killer Frost II to break into Belle Reve prison and kill Amanda Waller. The villains were defeated by Superman.
(Outsiders III #6) - The Slab, King Shark and his fellow inmates were offered transport to freedom as long as they helped Brother Blood fend off attacks while he used the Slab's GPS system to activate his cultist sleeper agents. The alternative was death if the prisoners failed to protect him. Shark and the other prisoners couldn't stop the Outsiders from foiling Blood's plans, but in the chaos Psimon led Shark and the others on a jailbreak, and after reaching Blood's transports they escaped scot-free.
(Superman / Batman #3) - Shark and a number of other supervillains attempted to collect the billion dollar bounty President Luthor placed on Superman’s head but failed.
(Secret Six III #30, Doom Patrol V #19) - The Secret Six were hired by the newly formed criminal organization C.R.U.S.H., run by Eric Fine, the grandson of one of the founders of the 100. They wanted the sovereign nation of Oolong Island as their new headquarters, and told the Secret Six to dispose of Oolong’s protectors the Doom patrol. The Six only agreed after Jeanette and Scandal made it clear they wouldn’t kill any civilians, but Deadshot thought they were acting like babies. The Six engaged the Doom patrol in combat, but Eric decided to double-cross them, and sent suicide bombers to ignite Oolong’s dormant volcano. The DP wanted to call off the fight, but Bane insisted that the disaster meant nothing. DP member Elasti-Woman diverted the lava, and Oolong’s president uncloaked C.R.U.S.H.’s helicopter, which was observing the proceedings. C.R.U.S.H. fled, and the Six realized they wouldn’t be paid for the job, so the conflict ended, and the Six peacefully left Oolong, but Catman admitted he was itching to tussle with the DP again.
