Powers: Klysto was armed with a power beam, an immobilizer that increased the gravity surrounding a target and a cannon that shot gamma radiation powerful enough to obliterate a planet. He wore body armor that made him nigh invulnerable. As a cold-blooded reptilian Klysto needed to absorb large amounts of heat to survive.

History: (Action Comics #576) - Klysto's planet was a sister of Earth until millions of years ago when a comet passed by Earth, wiping out the dinosaurs and sending Klysto's planet off course. Millennia later he found a way to bring his planet back into Earth's orbit. His planet needed an internal power source to keep it alive, so he planned to move his populace to Earth, and shot a gamma ray cannon at the planet to wipe out all human beings. Superman stopped the ray from reaching Earth and they clashed. Klysto had little support from his people, who'd rather perish than commit genocide, but Klysto was determined and took his spaceship towards Earth and shot another gamma blast. Superman blocked the shot, but created an implosion that destroyed Klysto and his ship.
