History: (Who's Who in Star Trek #1) - Konom was part of an elite Klingon family, and effortlessly passed the tests of growing up a warrior. Other children found the tests brutal and difficult, but since Konom did not he devoted his spare time to philosophy. As a youth Konom had the honor of participating in the Cloud Game, 3-D chess with live people and real weapons, and was one of the youngest graduates of the Klingon space fleet. Konom served with commander Kor on the Klothos, and was later a helmsman under Captain Koloth when the Klingon Empire waged war on the U.F.P. Konom had an epiphany, he loved the intellectual pursuit of war, but the loss of life involved made it unbearable for him. He tried to avert hostilities by sending a message to the U.S.S. Enterprise about Klingon stealth capability, but was caught and sent to prison. In lockup he met his first humans, Captain Kirk and Nancy Bryce. Kirk was convinced of his pacifism, and when opportunity reared its head Kirk brought Konom to the Enterprise. After the Klingon - Federation wae a council of Klingon ambassadors allowed Konom to join Starfleet, seeing him as a coward and wanting nothing to do with him.

Konom, along with the rest of the characters from DC Comics run on Star Trek, were not part of the mainstream DC Universe. To simplify matters, I refer to these characters as inhabiting Earth-Star Trek. Surely, somewhere out there in the 52, there's a Star Trek universe, or there would be if DC still had the rights to make comics about Star Trek.

Konom received a profile in Who's Who in Star Trek #1.
