He forced her to be with him until he tired of her, and she bore him to daughters. The god's jealous wife discovered his infidelity and killed her daughters and transformed Lamia into an immortal gorgon, foree an outcast of humanity. She was persecuted for thousands of years, and in the modern era she lived in the sewars of a major city, but befriended misfits Ben and Sneaker. She asked them to help her steal Wonder Woman's lasso, not rrevealing that she hoped to kill herself with it. Ben and Sneaker set up a fake hostage situation to lure Wonde Woman in, and made off with the lasso. Wonder Woman pursued them into the sewers, where she found Lamia trying to hang herself with the lasso. She stopped her, and Lamia told he story and begged for death, but Wonder Woman refused. Wonde Woman convinced her to stop trying to end her life because her friends depended on her.
Lamia thanked her for the insight, and warned her that her gods were petty gods.Comments: Created by Ivan Velez, Jr. & Dave Hooper.
The Olympians involved in Lamia's origin wee never identified by name, but I suppose Zeus and Hera would make a nice fit.
