Powers: Using an H-Dial in the form of a sundial Laodice could become a unique superhero for brief spans of time.

History: (Dial H #0) - In ancient Mesopotamia the dragon Mushussu escaped its bondage, freeing itself from the sculpture on the Ishtar Gate in which it was kept. Laodice had a dream about the sundial in town that was there as long as there was a Mesopotamia, and she used the ancient H-Dial to transform into the superhero Bumper Carla. Mushussu had already slaughtered most of Babylon's army, but she used her powers to banish it to Hell. The people of Babylon said she was favored by the gods, even though the sundial was destroyed in her battle, and she refused to rule, but became a respected wise woman. She sent her friend Stratonice into the world seeking knowledge about the mystic sundial, but she found no new information. A costumed stranger named Slim entered Babylon, begging to talk to Laodice, but she had him imprisoned, fearing he was an assassin. Bumper Carla showed up, and killed Laodice before freeing Slim and saying she'd accept whatever punishment awaited her. Slim told Stratonice that they were heroes from another dimension, and when Bumper Carla lost her powers many died. Carla knew Laodice's use of the H-Dial was what depowered her, even though Slim didn't believe it, and hoped he'd warn Laodice before Carla found her.
