History:
(Sgt. Rock I #329) -
(DC Comics Presents #10) - On patrol in France, Sure Shot and Easy came across Baker Company, a troop of Germans disguised as American soldiers, and killed all of them except for two who fled. Superman had been thrown back in time to 1944, and was struck with amnesia. He didn’t understand why he was wearing a circus costume, so he took an army outfit discarded by one of Baker Co. Easy met Superman, and were leery of his story about amnesia, but accepoted him as Tag-Along after he answered some American pop culture questions. Superman didn’t realize that the army outfit he was wearing had a tracking device, allowing the Germans to hone in on Easy and send a Tiger Tank after them. Rock gave Tag-Along a bazooka, but Superman’s memory was jogged because of his inexorable code against taking a human life. He disappeared from Easy, but took out the tank and as German plane sent against easy, making sure there were no casualties. He destroyed the homing beacon and confronted a German troop waiting for Easy at a nearby farmhouse. He called himself Corporal Steel and told them he was a super-soldier, just like Rock. After a demonstration of his powers the Germans ran in terror. Superman allowed himself to be found by Easy in the wreckage of the German hideout, and played dead, not wanting to disrupt history by letting them know who Superman was. Easy commended whatever he did to make the Germans flee, and gave him a proper burial.
(DCU Holiday Bash #2) - <December 25, 1944> Sure Shot and Easy Company fought in Batogne while Sgt. Rock had a ghostly vision.
(Swamp Thing II #46) – Sure Shot was transported to the present day due to the reality-altering effects of the Crisis on Infinite Earths. He was among the number of heroes teleported to the Monitor’s satellite by Alexander Luthor, Jr., who explained his plan to make sure reality survived the Crisis.
