History: (Legends of the DC Universe #1-3) - Madness went on a robbery spree in Metropolis, and was almost apprehended by Superman. After this encounter he was approached by the U.L.T.R.A. Humanite, who offered him partnership and protection, both of which Madness eagerly accepted. While Humanite kept Superman occupied by disabling Lexcorp technology across Metropolis and creating huge disasters, Madness was free to rob to his heart's content. Superman solved this dilemma by having Blue Beetle I avert one of Humanite's disasters while he went after Madness. Superman apprehended Madness, coerced him into leading him to Humanite's headquarters, then turned him over to the police.
