Mageddon was capable of creating smaller and weaker remote senders with similar abilities. remote senders paved the way for Mageddon's arrival on a planet, channeling data and observation to it. A planetoid served as its brain and was protected by humanoid Mind-Hordes, while an anti-sun served as power source, as a last resort it could explode and go hypernova.

History: (JLA #14, 34 (fb, BTS), 36 (fb, BTS)) - Urgrund, Mageddon was created as a doomsday weapon by the Old Gods, and Mageddon survived the death of the Old Gods and their universe. Mageddon was trapped in a gravity sink on the outer curve of spacetime for 15 billion years before freeing itself. The Theocracy of Wonderworld tried to force it back into its prison, but it destroyed their world and made them slaughter each other until no one was left alive.

(JLA #34 (BTS)) - Mageddon approached Earth, and sent a remote sender to Belle Reve prison, driving the prisoners berserk with rage. Most of the JLA was occupied, but Plas, Green Lantern and Aquaman quelled the riot while Orion dispatched the remote sender.

(JLA #37, 38 (BTS), 39-41) - Mageddon used a remote sender to control Lex Luthor and the New Injustice Gang, who attacked the JLA Watchtower to keep the heroes from interfering with the wars Mageddon caused on Earth. The JLA defeated the Gang, and Luthor shook off the remote sender through sheer willpower. Aztek was trained his entire life to fight Mageddon by the Q Foundation, who associated Mageddon with Tezcatlipoca, Aztec god of darkness, and he went inside Mageddon’s mind. Mageddon’s relentless thoughts of destruction drove him blind, and Mageddon caused unabated war between the nations of Earth. Superman piloted a White Martian supercarrier straight to Mageddon and had to overcome the immense waves of despair Mageddon channeled into him. The JLA built an anti-war ray, a device that gave all of humanity the ability to resist Mageddon’s urgings for them to destroy each other, as well as temporary superpowers so that they could all help fight Mageddon, Aztek sacrificed himself unleashing a 4-D explosion that wounded Mageddon, and the final blow was delivered when Superman absorbed the anti-sun that powered Mageddon.
