History: (Sensation Comics I #46)- George Spelvin was a famed actor who had a breakdown after losing his money to bad investments. He took a break from the theatre, and when he returned the critics panned him. No producer would hire him, so he decided to turn to crime, and to give his crimes the dramatic touches only an actor could add. As Mr. Futile he committed robberies, but found Mr. Terrific kept foiling him. He kidnapped Terrific's assistant Wanda Wilson, and lured Terrific to his theatre headquarters, where he defeated Terrific and bound him. He planned to dispose of Wanda and Terrific but he had business at the Theatre Awards banquet first. He stole the award for best actor and blamed the critics present for his life of crime. Terrific had escaped his bonds, and showed up at the banquet to defeat Futile. During the fight with Terrific Futile broke his stolen award, and broke down.
