History: (Detective Comics #604-607) - Clayface IV was interested in meeting the original, and visited Basil Karlo in a prison hospital. He suggested they team up and destroy Batman. Clayface IV recruited Clayface III and the remains of Clayface II. The newly formed Mud Pack captured Batman and forced him to confront his worst fears and nightmares. Clayface I, meanwhile, had taken blood samples from his partners and injected himself with them, gaining simulations of all their powers. Looker rescued Batman and together they defeated Clayface I. Clayface III and IV had fallen in love, and gave up their plans for revenge.
