(Catwoman II #62) - called in a favor from Oracle to learn how to get close to Catwoman, posing as her fence Starkey, but she quickly saw through his ruse. His friend Benton from the CBI had gone undercover in an international jewel ring, and he hadn't heard from him in weeks. He was afraid for his friend, and planned on disguising himself as a master thief to gain access to the ring, but he had no idea how to be a thief, and he'd heard Catwoman was the best. She was unsure of helping him, so he enticed her with a wager, if he could find his friend in two days Catwoman would have to tell him her real name, but if he didn't he'd be at Catwoman's disposal for one impersonation job of her choosing. They flew to London, and Catwoman gave him a crash course in breaking and entering, even alerting the guards so he'd have to deal with an unexpected circumstance. Nemesis admitted to her that his constant impersonations left him feeling like a cipher some days, and he was still haunted by his origins. That night they realized how well they got along, and Catwoman removed her mask in front of him. He was glad she could let her guard down with him, but when he used that phrase she bugged out and left, afraid of seeming weak. She couldn't fly home because Gotham airport was operating at limited capacity, so she went to see how Nemesis' mission played out. He gained access to Mr. stone's ring, but when he revealed himself to Benton he learned his friend had gone rogue. Catwoman regretted giving him the impression that there was honor among thieves when she unmasked for him. Benton fatally shot Nemesis, so all Catwoman could do was blow his cover with his bosses, sealing his fate. Catwoman shed a tear for having a friend briefly and then losing him.
