History: (Dragonlance #9 (fb)) - Sargas, the god of the Minotaurs, fell in love with Dark Queen Takhisis. As was her nature she eventually spurned and betrayed him after they became lovers.
(Dragonlance #3) - Takhisis brought worship of her dark gods to Krynn, and was served by Lord Soth and his dragon armies. They were opposed by Vandar Brightblade and Riva Silvercrown, and Takhisis sensed that they were in the company of Paladine, so she sent them a nightmare to drag the information out of them. Riva didn't know what she was talking about, but attacked her anyway. Takhisis revealed her dragon form and Riva wounded her with the Dragonlance, causing the dream to end. They wondered who "the one" was and Fizban appeared, alive and well, and revealed that he was who Takhisis was after.
(Dragonlance #7, 8) - The Dark Queen raised the Temple of Ishtar, corrupting it and making it a beacon for evil forces. Her plans were near fruition, and she warned Raistlin that he would pay if he intended to betray her. He'd buried his traitorous thoughts in the elf Kalthanan, who was approaching the temple with his allies Gnatch and Myrella. The Dark Queen's armies were assembled to watch Raistlin help her materialize on the physical plane. Myrella tried to help Kalthanan from being drawn to Raistlin's will, but the mage's magic was too strong, and the elf struck his ally. Raistlin took his hidden magic and thoughts back from his pawn. Raistlin's brother Caramon Majere brought Everman to him. Everman's sister Jasla was embedded in the foundation Stone, wedging open the entrance to Takhisis' realm. He convinced Everman to impale himself on the stone, freeing his sister, and shutting the doorway between worlds. Takhisis bellowed in anger, realizing she was being banished from Krynn. Her armies fell into chaos, and Kalthanan and company had to fight off a number of Draconians before fleeing on Kalthanan's griffon.
(Dragonlance #14 (fb)) - After acquiring the Dragon Orb Raistlin confronted Takhisis in the Abyss, seeking to destroy her and become a god himself, but she defeated and killed him.
(Dragonlance #25) - Takhisis, as Erestem, Queen of Darkness, sought a foothold in the evil and corrupt continent of Taladas, believing she could use it as a stepping stone to conquering Krynn. She chose five champions to assert her will, including minotaur Axantheas, who she gave the Dragonring to. Axantheas planned on usurping his emperor, but his soldiers Griffin and Skrum learned of his plan and cut off his hand, stealing the Dragonring. They were soon aided by Riva Silvercrown, who’d been sent to Taladas by Paladine to redeem the land, and elves Maraghiz and Sulai. The Dragonring corrupted Skrum, who fell under Erestem’s will. He summoned a horde of dragons, and flew his companions to a lavafall where he told them they’d meet Erestem, who knew they were plotting against her. Erestem created an avatar of herself from lava and fire andboasted that Riva’s plan to spread goodness throughout Taladas was doomed because no one in the land worshipped Paladine. Sulai summoned an icestorm that allowed them to flee from Erestem. Skrum caught up with them and demanded they submit to Erestem. Griffin knocked him out, but was unable to pry the Dragonring from him, saying it was as if it was grafted to his hand. Axantheas arrived, riding a Red Dragon and threatened to kill the company. They were saved by Riva’s dragon Ktarrh, who’d been sent by Fizban to aid her in her quest. Riva and Axantheas had an aerial duel over a lavafield, and Axantheas called out to Erestem for aid, so she reformed her avatar. With Erestem distracted Maraghiz removed her control over Skrum, causing the dragonring to slip from his hand. The fight started going against Riva, so Griffin risked possession by Erestem to summon a dragon to help her in her duel. He was no match for Axantheas, but when he tossed the Dragonring in the lava Axantheas dove in after it, incinerating himself and his dragon. Erestem was disgusted that her champion had failed her.
(Dragonlance #28) - After Axantheas’ death his Cantavian wanted to fulfill his pact with Erestem, seeking power to overthrow the emperor. He forced his way into the temple of Erestem, intimidating her priests. He spoke to the temple statue of Erestem, declaring himself a worthy champion, and Erestem answered by animating the statue and breathing fire at Cantavian, incinerating him for his hubris.
(Dragonlance #28) - Erestem sent a troop of Traag Draconians to kill Riva Silvercrown, and they made their way through the swamps of Aurim, where they encountered a Hobgoblin den. Hobgoblin Feh, angered that Olob, the woman he wanted to marry, was engaged to mighty hunter Snonk. Feh decided to seek out Hobgoblin pundit Hanuk, asking him for a way to unseat Snonk as the most respected member of the clan. Hanuk got his hands on a Draconian spell, but admitted he hadn’t been able to translate the entire scroll. The scroll was a recipe for a potion which Feh drank, sending him to the dream-realm to commune with Erestem, Queen of Darkness. She was initially annoyed at seeing him in the dream-realm, but decided such an unassuming creature could serve some of her evil plans. She imbued Feh with power, and told him to bring her an offering that shined like the sun. The Traag Draconians raided the Hobgoblin den, but Feh repelled them with his magic and grabbed the prize Erestem wanted, the Draconian leader’s ring. Feh convinced Olob to get engaged to him and banished Snonk. Erestem told him to go to the lands of the west and kill her enemy Riva Silvercrown, saying she chose Feh over her Draconians because she knew Riva would never see Feh as a threat. Before he left Feh proclaimed that all sludge-spreaders would be elevated to hunters, and all hunters demoted to sludge spreaders. In his absence Hobgoblin society went downhill, but everyone still obeyed his last orders fearing Feh would return and destroiy them. Hanuk told them to return to the old ways, saying he’d finished translating the Draconian magic, and was sure Feh would not be back. Feh’s magical powers let him conquer all that stood before him, but left his back vulnerable. Feh blasted everything in his path, but was oblivious to the fierce monsters sneaking up behind him.
