Powers: The Truth could force his victims to confront their own deepest truths, or stripped the lies of the lives of his victims, physically unraveling them as well.

History: (Enigma #1-4) - Victor Lamont was a pompous star of stage and screen. He encountered Michael Smith, a troubled telephone repairman who'd been having dreams about the mysterious superhero the Enigma. Soon after Victor received a revealing outfit in the mail and felt compelled to put it on. Enigma, a mutant boy, was trying to recreate his life as the comic he read, and needed the villains in the comic to come to life. Victor became the Truth, and began massacring people for the lies they lived, as well as dissecting them to try and find their hidden truths. Enigma attacked him, but the Truth confronted him with the lies about his identity, and the Enigma slumped to the ground. In his hospital room Michael Smith finally realized that th Enigma was a 1970s comic book character, and reread the last issue of the Enigma comic, where he was killed by the Truth. Enigma managed to escape, and the Truth continued on his grisly rampage. A week later he attacked Saint Peters, destroying the hypocrisy of religion, when Enigma appeared to fight him again. Michael was also there, and he'd brought Titus Bird, creator of the Enigma comics with him. Michael was hoping he could shed light on the Enigma, but Titus admitted that the comic was a product of being high on drugs, and he never had a proper ending for the series. Michael hopped the police barricade to confront the Truth, but when the villain stared into his mind he saw something he couldn't deal with and recoiled, allowing the Enigma to snap his neck.
