History: (Adventure Comics I #41, 42) - Rusty and company flew away from Long Sin's sinking island, but one of Sins's henchmen shot at them and hit their gas tank, so they were forced to land in the ocean. They floated for three days before a ship came along and rescued them. Rusty and his starving pals gobbled up some food, while Steve and Duchess decided to pursue a romantic relationship. Tubby gorged himself, never having gone so long without food before. The gang ended up in Liverpool, and were local celebrities for breaking up Sin's opium ring. Sin's boss Chen Fu learned that they were responsible for the death of his underling, and wanted revenge. Rusty explored London, and Fu's men followed him. Chen Fu's men kidnapped Rusty, and he said his buddy Steve would make them sorry, but Fu told him he was just the bait to trap Steve. Steve received a ransom letter demanding he not contact Scotland Yard, and meet Chen Fu. Duchess was worried it was a trap, but knew Steve had to save Rusty, so she told him to be careful for her sake. Steve met Fu at his hideout and attacked him, but Fu's men overpowered him. Fu put Steve in a torture pit, with spikes below, and a bladed pendulum above.
