History(Kurt Busiek’s Astro City I (Image) #4) - The Unholy Alliance were a group of supervillains, all of whom had grudges against Astro City. They clashed numerous times with the First Family and the Honor Guard. After their latest defeat Demolitia broke out of jail by rebuilding her commode and prison cot into a jackhammer, and she later freed the rest of her crew. Darcy Conroy was the head of the prestigious lawfirm Grant, Miller, Conroy, McConnell & Ingersol. After starting a relationship with Nick Furst of the First Family they ended up getting engaged. Darcy gave a news interview in which she said she wasn’t worried about the First Family’s numerous enemies because she had a First Family brooch that could send out an emergency signal as needed. The Unholy Alliance assaulted Binderbeck Plaza, where Darcy’s lawfirm was located. The damage done to the plaza caused it to start collapsing, and Darcy and her co-workers were lucky to escape with their lives. Fortunately Darcy had already activated her emergency signal, and the First Family saved Marta and defeated the villains. Flamethrower managed to evade capture.
