History:
(DC Comics Presents #5) - A seaquake struck Poseidonis and Tritonis, and King Vulko s palace collapsed around him. Aquaman rescued him, and he implored the hero to learn who was responsible. The people of Tritonis blamed Poseidonis for the seaquakes, and made Ocean Master their king in exchange for his protection. Superman helped Aquaman expose Ocean Master as the culprit behind the seaquakes, and he was deposed.
(Aquaman V #23, 24, 27) - Kordax mind controlled Vulko and other Atlanteans, and led them on a bloody raid of Tritonis. Aquaman arrived, broke Kordax' hold on the Atlanteans and helped the survivors, but Kordax remained in control of the city. When the Hunters launched attacks on each of Atlantis' cities Aquaman repelled them, and warned the citizens of Tritonis to stay away because they weren't in their right mind. Later Kordax died in combat with Aquaman, and those in his mental thrall were freed. Aquaman decreed that Vulko and the other the Poseidonis raiders would rebuild Tritonis and then follow orders from King Iqula of Tritonis before they could return home.
(JLA #44) - Vulko oversaw Atlantis peace talks between Rhapastan and Turkey, two nations that Atlantis had commerce with.
(JLA: Our Worlds at War #1) - An Imperiex Probe was attacking Atlantis and Aquaman rushed to the rescue. He said goodbye to Mera and Tempest and Vulko presented him with Neptune's trident to battle the Probe. He defeated the Probe, but the resulting explosion seemingly vaporized him and Atlantis.
(JLA #72, 74, 75) - During the Imperiex War Tempest cast a secret spell taught to him in use of emergencies. As Imperiex exploded, Atlantis vanished to the year 1,000 B.C., leaving a deep gash in the ocean called the Atlantic Trench. Vulko and the Atlanteans were enslaved by the sorceress Gamemnae, who turned Aquaman to water and kept him captive in a mystic pool. Gamemnae branded the Atlanteans as traitors and forced them to slave to support the Atlantis of 1,000 B.C, which she d raised to the surface. After 15 years of hard labor the JLA traveled into the past looking for Aquaman, and promised to free the Atlanteans. The JLA fell in battle, crusing the hope of the Atlanteans. Another JLA lineup went back in time, defeated Gamemnae, restored Aquaman, and returned Vulko and the Atlanteans to the present day. Mera blamed Aquaman for their years of enslavement and told him there had to be a reckoning.
