History: On the Other Side of the World time did not pass, nothing aged, no one died, and anything destroyed was instantly replaced. The Warlock found his world boring, and longed for progress. He spied Earth through a mystic mirror, and planned to conquer it,but he could not leave his world. He contacted the earthly Senes, priestesses of Teutates, and they constructed the Gate of the Blue Flame for him, through which people from Earth could enter the Other Side. The Gate was near the flooded city of Ys, and the wizard became known as the Warlock of Ys.

The Warlock lured Green Lantern to his world, but Lantern and his ally Zatanna defeated the Warlock and stripped him of his magical powers.

(JSA #54) - The Warlock of Ys teamed with Kulak in hopes of destroying their sworn enemies the JLA and JSA. They foolishly ruined the JLA and JSA’s Thanksgiving meal at JSA hq, then realized just how outnumbered they were. Kulak and the Warlock were ready to leave, but couldn’t get out and were easily defeated by the heroes.
