Silkk's has 3 brothers and 1 sister. His two brothers Master P and C-Murder are both in No Limit, and his third brother Kevin Miller is dead. His sister is in Germany. Silkk grew up in 3rd Ward Calliope Projects in New Orleans. He is a part of 2 groups within No Limit, TRU and Da 504 Boyz, as well as a solo artist. His first album was called The Shocker. When he first began his career, his name was Silk but he added another K and The Shocker to his name after a R&B group claimed they had the name Silk before he did so he had to change it. His second solo album was called Charge It 2 Da Game. And in 1999 his third solo album which will be called Made Man.
Silkk the Shocker and is one of the most successful artists with the record label No Limit. . Silkk the Shocker released his second album, “Charge It 2 Da Game”, in February of 1998. His first album was, “The Shocker”. Master P and Silkk the Shocker are two very successful brothers with the label No Limit. C-Murder is also their brother and with No Limit.
In 1996, No Limit Records released albums from Master P, Silkk the Shocker, and Kane & Abel’s. Master P release a solo album, “Ice Cream Man”, which hit number three on the Billboard R&B Chart. “Ice Cream Man” also sold over 800,000 units and still counting. In 1996, No Limit also released, “The 7 Sins”, from Kane & Abel’s. Silkk the Shocker released his first album, “The Shocker”, in 1997. Silkk made number six on the Billboard R&B Charts.
In 1996, Silkk the Shocker released, “The Shocker”, his first album. People never thought Silkk would reach the heights that he did because he is so young, only at the age of 19. In a recent article in The Source Silkk talked about what it is like to be in the rap business with his older brother. Here is what he had to say: “It’s straight. I don’t look at him as my brother, I look at him as a business man. It’s cool to have a brother as a CEO, because I learn a lot of stuff from him. I get more chances then anybody else would. With somebody else, if you do something wrong, you’re gone. With him, he took his time and patience with me and it turned out right”. -Silkk the Shocker Silkk has just recently released his second album “Charge It 2 Da Game”. It was released in February 1998. Silkk says, “This new album, it’s a way bigger step from my last one. At first, I was trying to figure out ways to top my last album, which I figured would be kind of hard, but now that I’ve finished this album, I think I’ve matured a lot as a rapper”.
