Graphic by Charles Thompson from "Parkwood Place". His site may be visited by clicking on graphic.

The United States suffered 148 killed in action, 458 wounded,
121 killed in nonhostile actions and 11 female combat deaths.

Below is a pic of my oldest son Robert "Butch" Girard.
It was taken out in the desert during "Desert Shield".
Butch a former Marine Sgt. (10/68 thru 10/72) was living with his family in Saudi at the time Kuwait was attacked.

My grandson Christopher was born in Dharhan (Eastern Province of Saudi)..they evacuated my daughter-in-law Deb and Christopher back stateside...while Butch had to finish up business there until Nov. '90.

He would bring many of the military to his home while there and give them a good "home cooked" meal and let them do their laundry etc.. He Made daily trips out where they were to bring ice, cokes, candy
and writing materials to the "men/women"...
it gave him much 'pride' to do this. Matter of fact...he was in his "glory" being around the military once again :-)

" ONCE A MARINE..ALWAYS A MARINE"...SEMPER FI !!"
