the small bookworm cried out.
"You just haven't a clue
what my life's all about."

"I wait on the shelf
up there day after day,
just watching you frolic
and watching you play

"just hoping you'll quit
all that gobbledygook
and come over to me
and pick up this here book.

"But what do you do?
You pick that book instead.
Or that one, or that one.
What's wrong with your head?

"I want you to throw
all of those books away,
and read only my book
each night and each day."


"But if I had nothing but
one book to read,
I'm sure I'd get bored
at a very swift speed.
