SKA

*****Five Iron Frenzy-All The Hype That Money Can Buy--5 Minute Walk Records-This is a great cd, It isn't quite as good as the live album, but what can be? This cd is loaded with the always awesome old school FIF songs, plus some great new sounds, but it is still FIF, Reese still has the best ska vocals in the world. There is no secret song at the end...but there is a nice 7 or so second intro if you rewind the first track as the band says "what's up" It has an almost BNB All Star's esqe song in the song Giants. The song list is as follows: 0.What's Up 1.The Greatest Story Ever Told 2.Me Oh My 3.Solidarity 4.The Phantom Mullet 5.Ugly Day 6.Fahrenheit 7.Four-Fifty-One 8.You Probably Shouldn't Move here(telling you about moving to Colorado) 9.Hurricanes 10.Giants 11.I Still Like Larry(a tribute to Larry) 12.All The Hype 13.It's Not Unusual(the old Tom Jones song) 14.A New Hope(the song inspired by the Columbine Tragedy, of which Micah's sister Amy was a part of that horrible day) 15.World Without End(the praise and worship song to close the album out, a great song) I would recommend this cd to any FIF fan, or ska fan period, and hey, if ya haven't tried em yet, give em a try.

**********(I know, I know, only supposed to have 5, but this one is worth 10!)Five Iron Frenzy Live!-Proof That Youth Are Revoting--5 Minute Walk Records-This is a totally awesome MUST have for any Ska fan! It is the best ever live cd i have heard! This cd was recorded live at 11 different shows, and has all the crowd noise in it still. THe songs are all great, from "one girl army", "oh Canada" A Flowery Song, All that is good, Handbook for the Sellout, Suckerpunch, It's Not Unusual, Anthem, New Hope, Arnold & Willis & Mr. Drumond, Ugly Day, Superpowers, Where 0 meets 15, blue comb 78, and an awesome mix of Every New Day. The secret song on the cd is outtakes from the recordings of the concerts, It is very very funny. They are a great ska band! no they are THE BEST SKA BAND! MUST HAVE! THE BEST OF SKA!!! THE BEST SKA CD EVER MADE, CHRISTIAN OR NOT! MUST BUY!

*****The Insyderz-Fight of my Life--KMG Records-The Insyderz are a great Ska band from Detroit who really hit it great with this 1998 release. More like there deput than there second album, this one directer more at the mainstream market, unlike skalleluah. This is a great cd, the band is really together on it very well produced ska cd. The songs on the cd are: 1.Jigsaw, 2.What Happened to Joe, 3.Paradise, 4.The Hunted, 5.Game Day, 6.Forgive and Forget, 7.Trinidad, 8.Rat Race, 9.Just What I Needed, 10.Fight of my Life. This is a great cd, very uplifting and upbeat, and gives you hope in your everyday fight with satan and the powers of the world. I recomend to any ska fan.

*****B.O.B.(Bunch Of Believers)-It's A Ska, Ska, Ska, Ska World--Li'l Buddy Records-Bob is a zany group, they have some great humorus and positive lyrics about there savior. They tackle the subjects of Missions, Homeschooling, Purity, and even there Dancing Pastor...hehe. The song list is: 1.Mission Trip To Mexico, 2.Homeschool Girl, 3.I'm Not Ashamed, 4.Goodwill Day, 5.I'm Gonna Wait, 6.Doctor In The House, 7.Pastor Dancing, 8.Break It On Down, 9. What I believe, 10.It's A Ska, Ska, Ska, Ska World. They do a grea ska cover on the Newsboys classic "I'm Not Ashamed." Any fan of crazy Ska should pick them up!

*****BUCK(now Buck Enterprises)-Self-titled--Tattoo Records-Buck is a great live band, and shows this on there cd. They give you a dose of the truth in a spunky upbeat way, which is how most ska bands do it. They come with the boldness of knowing the truth and not fearing rejection, plus are really down to earth guys. The song list on the cd is: 1.Truth And Life, 2.Not As We Know It, 3.Testimony, 4.Why Won't Josh Dance, 5.A.D.D., 6.Samaritan, 7.EWE, 8.Superman Soup, 9.Fruit, 10.Next. There is not one favorite on this cd for me, this is one fo those you just have to put in and let it play. I realy recomend anyone to get this, its a great cd.

*****Godrocket-Saved--Screaming Giant Records-Godrocket is one of the best new Christian Ska bands. G-Rock fans will be familiar with them, they hosted the show before, and have a little promo for G-Rock on the inside cover. They are awesome with such songs as The title track, I wann be like you, BBB & RNG, Shoe Fetish, SSociety's Child, Pardon my French, and my personal favorite THE BALLD OF SKANKIN' BOB. Godrocket will be around a while with there awesome sound.

*****The O.C. Supertones-The Adventures Of The O.C. Supertones--Tooth & Nail Records-The Best Supertones CD EVER, a lot better than the new stuff, true ska at its finest, a must for any fan of ska, get this right after you get all 5 FIF albums...hehe. This has the true Tones sound that helped get ska popular in the underground. The songs that made the tones who they are are: 1.Adonai, 2.Who Can Be Against Me, 3.Unknown, 4.Never Wanna Fall, 5.Roots, 6.Heaven, 7.He Will Always Be There, 8.Exalt, 9.Found, 10.O.C. Supertones, 11.I Love God, 12.Blood Washed Pilgrim. This is a ska classic, if you don't have it, you can't be a ska fan! unless ya have all of FIF, but then hey, get this one! it rules!

***The O.C. Supertones-Chase The Sun--BEC Recordings- an all-around good album, especially considering that they lost their saxaphone player, and changed guitar players. Crystal Lewis accompanies them in the song "Away From You." The Supertones are now more of a rock band with horns than a ska band, yet still have the ska sound.

Rock

***** Scarecrow & Tinemen-No Place Like Home--Scarecrow & Tinmen give a great debut album on Pamplin. It is a great cd, with strong vocals, nice guitar riffs, nice beats on the drums, and a solid bass line, with uncompromising lyrics. Not as hard as I normally listen to, but very very good. The favorite on here for me is their slowest one, "You Are My Son" has a great message, that we all need to realize. It talks about our Heavelny Fathers love for us, no matter what we do. They are strong on this whole album, I would strongly recomend you checking them out! The others tracks on here are "Scarecrow & Tinmen", "Gen X", "Just Fine", "No Place Like Home", "Gospel Love", "You Are My Son", "Overcome", "Hangin' ON", "Dreamy Light", and "Wandering Lamb"

***** DC Talk-Supernatural--a mixture of all types of music that they were brought up around. the first single (Into Jesus) is currently at #2 on the CCM charts. has other songs that i recomend like Dive, My Friend (So Long), Since I Met You, and the title cut Supernatural.

**** Skillet-Hey You I Love Your Soul--a nice alternative album with songs such as Whirlwind, take, the title cut Hey You I Love Your Soul, Take, and my personal favorite Scarecrow. They are awesome in concert. I have some news about a new praise and worship album coming out next year that Skillet is working on right now. I got a sneak peak at the concert.

Peace & LUV n Christ,
